  • Patent number: 8381380
Abstract: The device for fast assembly of a tool on its support comprises a bolt attached to said support and disposed within a bore with a through hole and a mandrel, which is attached to the tool as such and disposed within said through hole and interacting with said bolt. At the junction between the tool and its support, the device comprises centering and locking means which consist of a set of the tenon and mortise type, which set extends perpendicularly to the mandrel and thus forms a T-shaped structure of the assembly, which confers high rigidity to the tool. Said assembly device is in particular suitable for tools such as actuators or pliers, i.e. tools which are utilized in machines for packaging flasks, bottles or the like.

  • Patent number: 7520538
Abstract: A purge gas introduction system for an orbital tube welding setup is provided, configured to inject high purity inert purge gas to the interior volume of a tube or tubular component. An o-ring is interposed between an annular base and an annular ring, their junction forming an annular o-ring groove, each part forming one sidewall, with the o-ring fully recessed within the groove, protecting the o-ring during the insertion and removal of a tube. The annular base and an annular ring are configured to receive a tube terminus. The sidewalls of the o-ring groove are divergent one to the other, wherein as the annular ring is drawn towards the annular base, the o-ring is forced partially out of the groove, forming a substantially leak tight seal between the tube and the o-ring. A purge gas from an external source is transmitted to the annular base through a purge connector, then, in turn, introduced to the interior volume of the tube.

  • Patent number: 7232120
Abstract: A workbench has at least one drive member to clamp table members against one another. The drive member has a receiving tube and a crank tube. The receiving tube and crank tube are coupled with respect to one another for telescoping movement. One of the tubes has a threaded member and the other tube has a thread engaging member. A mechanism engages and disengages the thread engaging member into the threaded member such that in an engaged position, the crank tube can be rotated in the receiving tube for screw type movement. In a disengaged position, the crank tube is freely slidable for sliding movement in the receiving tube.

  • Publication number: 20040217531
Abstract: A tension rod positioning apparatus and method for C-type clamps and Vises including a shaped threaded rod inserted into a shaped threaded hole on an engagement collar. When the shaped rod and shaped hole are aligned, the rod may be freely positioned within the collar. When the shaped rod is inserted into the collar and turned, the rod engages and turns the engagement collar. The engagement collar includes an external thread sized to fit an internal thread on a clamp base. In this manner, the rod may be inserted and then turned in one direction to both engage the engagement collar and increase the clamping pressure. After clamping, the shaped rod may be turned in the opposite direction to loosen the clamping pressure and disengage the engagement collar. Once the rod and collar have been disengaged by aligning the shaped rod and shaped hole of the engagement collar, the length of the rod may be freely moved within the engagement collar to reposition the clamp for the next operation.

  • Patent number: 5100275
Abstract: A quick locking fastener has a base defining an interior chamber and forward and rearward portions. Plural generally contiguous internally threaded insert nut segments are in the interior chamber of the base, having a tail remote from the forward portion of the base. The nut segments have a first bevel exterior surface adjacent the forward portion of the base, a cylindrical surface adjacent the first bevel surface, and a second exterior bevel disposed on the tail, spaced apart and coaxial with the first bevel surface. A rearward disposed end cap having a bevel and a circular compresssion spring circumferentially disposed about a third bevel surface engages and biases the nut segments towards the front of the base. A retainer ring having a band surrounding the end cap has inwardly directed tangs preventing rotation of the insert segments.

  • Patent number: 4341375
Abstract: A deliberately simple ski vise is provided which utilizes essential structural elements requiring only a minimum of machining. The vise is preferably used in conjunction with another identical vise to hold skis securely to a table top or other flat surface while the skis are `tuned` or otherwise worked upon. The skis may be clamped in any desired position, and irrespective of the widths of the skis, the skis may be clamped in position and unclamped with unprecedented ease and speed. A novel, quick-release mechanism is provided on the vise which serves to lock movable jaws of the ski vise relative to each other so as to negate longitudinal travel relative to each other except by rotation of a rod which is at least partially threaded to provide a screw-clamping action.
