Abstract: A guard for structural members is disclosed. It can reduce worker injury with a thin sheet metal or plastic, broadly U-shaped guard plate attached to a structural support through attachment to a pair of clamps, each with a primary and a secondary threaded clamp mechanism. The attachment between the guard plate and pair of clamps may be via a slotted intermediate structure. The primary mechanism has a swivel pad end while the secondary clamps have a pointed, cone-shaped end. is the guard can be used in wind turbine towers to protect workers on a fixed ladder from hitting interior flanges as they climb up and as they climb down.
Abstract: A pressure-adjusting apparatus for vise including a bolt and a pressure-adjusting element is provided. The bolt having a plurality of positioning holes is adapted for connecting to a vise. The pressure-adjusting element is sleeved onto the bolt movably. The distance between the pressure-adjusting element and the vise can be changed by moving the pressure-adjusting element so as to adjust the clamping force of the vise. A positioning member of the pressure-adjusting element is stocked in one of the positioning holes when the pressure-adjusting element is moving so that the pressure-adjusting element can be fixed at a preset location. Thus, the pressure-adjusting apparatus for vise of the present invention is more convenient for pressure adjustment.

Abstract: An optical lens clamping apparatus for clamping an optical lens is provided. The clamping apparatus includes a base, a clamping portion positioned on the base, and an engaging block. The clamping portion includes two clamping arms rotatably connected to the base. Each clamping portion includes a clamping section and an adjusting section connected to the clamping section. The adjusting section and the clamping section form an obtuse angle therebetween. The clamping sections of the clamping arms are positioned substantially parallel to each other and are spaced a predetermined distance from each other. The adjusting sections of the clamping arms form a predetermined angle therebetween. The engaging block moves relative to the clamping portion to adjust an angle between the adjusting sections, so that the clamping sections clamp or release the optical lens.
Abstract: A tooling fixture that provides a self-centering vise to hold a work piece is described. The design provides a means to allow a centering adjustment of the clamping surfaces that is integrated into the central support structure for the threaded spindle.
Abstract: An instant clamping mechanism includes a supporting member, a base seat, a clamping assembly and a handle assembly. The base seat is assembled to the supporting member and defines a sliding groove, the sliding groove includes a releasing end and a latching end, an axial distance within the base seat is defined from the latching end to the releasing end. The clamping assembly extends through the base seat and the supporting member and is partially exposed out from the supporting member. The handle assembly extends into the sliding groove and is partially exposed out from the base seat. The handle assembly is non-rotatably connected to the clamping assembly and is capable of sliding from the releasing end to the latching end to move the clamping assembly axially within the base seat, thereby clamping the workpiece on the supporting member.

Abstract: A quick clamp includes a first jaw, a second jaw, a crank, an operating handle, a shaft assembly and a slide rail. The crank is arranged in a cover plate of the second jaw with the operating handle rotatably screwed to an upper end of the crank, the shaft assembly connected to a through bore formed at a middle portion of the crank and the slide rail extended through a slide rail slot formed near a lower end of the crank. By turning the operating handle in one direction, the crank is brought to pivot with the slide rail slot thereof becoming inclined to press against the slide rail, so that the slide rail is stopped from moving relative to the second jaw. When the operating handle is turned reversely, the slide rail is released, and the second jaw is movable along the slide rail.
Abstract: The invention relates to a device comprising a base plate and a support for adjusting the height of an assembly, in particular of a galley module in an aircraft, without using tools. According to the invention, two opposing wedge bodies are arranged such that they can be displaced horizontally between the base plate and the support, the oppositely directed manual displacement of the two wedge bodies, when the lock levers have been raised, causes in the “adjusting position” a raising or lowering of the support for the height adjustment. The assembly is connected to the support, for example by a conventional screw connection through the attachment hole in the support. The device according to the invention allows a user to perform a simple and rapid height adjustment of an assembly arranged thereon, thereby greatly reducing the assembly effort required for prefabricated assemblies or modules in aircraft.

Abstract: This invention provides a novel apparatus and method for securing a work object, such as a pipe, conduit, bar, rod or the like, using a wrench or other gripping tool that acts as a second set of hands. The wrench is pivotally attached to a support that has a receiving location wherein a work object sits. The wrench can be rotated about its end opposite the mouth so that the mouth engages the work object, and the wrench is held in engagement with the work object by the force of gravity. When a pipe wrench is gripping a work object in such a way, the work object will be prevented from rotating in one sense, thereby allowing someone practising this invention to use both hands to apply a torque to the work object.

Abstract: A positioning clamp for holding a workpiece properly oriented with respect to a work station adjacent the clamp. The clamp disclosed releasably holds saw chain during an operation such as grinding of a cutter in the chain. The clamp is releasable to permit the saw chain to be advanced in steps along a channel defined between jaw margins in the clamp. These jaw margins include portions which face each other, and that come against opposite sides of the saw chain when clamping it, which are shaped to complement the shape of the rivet ends usually provided in saw chain to hold it together. One jaw member is mounted for pivotal movement toward and away from the other to effect clamping and release positioning through a ball pivot. The jaw members are biased toward each other to exert a clamping pressure, and selectively operable means is provided for swinging the jaw members away from each other to produce release.
