  • Patent number: 8657275
Abstract: A material-saving and energy-saving multifunctional bench clamp includes a movable clamp body, a fixed clamp body and a transmission pair of a screw and a nut. The fixed clamp body is provided with a holding accessory and a retractable locating-guiding device. The movable clamp body is made up of a left part and a right part. The left part is provided with two work heads, each head includes holding members, which form a holding assembly together with the accessories installed on the fixed clamp body. At least two axially locating-guiding key grooves are shaped on the cylinder guide rail of the right part and positioned the corresponding work heads of the left part. The bench clamp not only reduces processing surfaces and costs, but also saves about 30% material of clamper body under the same standard size and rated clamp force by comparison to the old multifunctional bench clamp.

  • Publication number: 20080029946
Abstract: The gutter clamp is a handheld clamp allowing a user to temporarily clamp a gutter to a support surface, such as a face board, while work is being performed on the gutter. The gutter clamp includes an handle portion and a clamping portion extending from the handle portion. The clamping portion includes first and second clamping members joined to the handle portion in such a manner that the clamping members pivot toward and away from each other. The first clamping member is adapted for contacting an outer face of the support surface, and the second clamping member has a substantially U-shaped upper end, allowing the upper end to be mounted on an outer wall of the gutter, and to securely contact an inner face of the outer wall, the handles being resiliently biased to hold the clamping members, thus releasably securing the gutter to the support surface.

  • Patent number: 6799767
Abstract: A chuck device includes a first worm gear mechanism linked to a second worm wheel mechanism which operate in tandem to receive, increase, and redirect an input rotational drive force. A conversion mechanism receives and further augments the force from the second worm gear mechanism and converts the drive force into an axial force. The conversion mechanism transfers the axial force symmetrically to a pair of claw members. The claw members move relative to each other and firmly secure a work item to the chuck device.

  • Patent number: 6783122
Abstract: A clamping device (1), particularly a machine vice (1), has a body element (2), a jaw (3) attached thereto, and an oppositely placed movable jaw, for displacement by a drawbar (4). The drawbar has a compression bar to be arrested at varying distances from the fixed jaw, and a force amplifying arrangement (5) acting on the spindle. The force amplifying arrangement includes at least one cylindrical tube (9) and at least two plungers (10, 11) that are movable in concentric cylinders. Two compression chambers are provided, an outer, low-pressure chamber (12) and a high-pressure chamber (14) acting on the clamping plunger (11) from the direction of the drawbar, wherein a functional connection is established between the two plungers so that at least one rod (18) having a smaller diameter than the diameter of the plungers and connected to the outer compression plunger (10) acts on the high-pressure chamber (14), which is filled with pressurising medium, preferably oil or liquid grease.

  • Patent number: 6761349
Abstract: An improved clamping assembly especially suited for use in a bench vise for allowing a user to choose between conventional fine-screw-reduction closure and/or opening of the jaws for clamping, or quick-set sliding adjustment of the jaws. The clamping assembly relies on a toothed rack and pawl. The pawl is selectively engaged with the toothed rack to allow conventional reduction gear closure or opening. Alternatively, a user can more quickly open and close the jaws by disengaging the pawl from the rack and simply sliding the jaws relative to one another. The clamping assembly provides a quick-set clamping action which allows a user to initially to preset the jaws by sliding them together in one quick motion, followed by conventional fine-screw-adjustment for high-force clamping.

  • Patent number: 6296241
Abstract: An adjustable C-clamp which includes a generally C-shaped frame fitted with parallel bottom and top clamp seats and threadibly receiving a clamp cylinder at the top clamp seat. A slotted cylinder is secured in the clamp cylinder typically by means of an allen screw, and a clamp rod slidably disposed in the slotted cylinder is fitted with a clamp rod pin. A clamp nut typically attached to one end of the clamp rod faces the bottom clamp seat across the expanse of the clamp frame. The clamp rod pin is designed to traverse a pair of parallel, diametrically-opposed longitudinal cylinder slots in the slotted cylinder to facilitate slidably adjusting the clamp rod in the slotted cylinder and quickly positioning the clamp nut at a selected spacing from the bottom clamp seat.

  • Patent number: 5531428
Abstract: The invention discloses an adjustable closure force control device for a screw-type vise and a method for selectively controlling the closure force of the vise. The control device uses a nut barrel for threadingly receiving a screw of a screw-type vise with a movable vise jaw being operatively connected to the screw so that advancement of the screw through the nut barrel results in vise jaw closure about an article to be held. The closure force control selectively controls the advancement of the screw through the nut barrel in response to the resistance to movement encountered by the movable vise jaw. In a preferred form of the invention, a compressible detent plunger cooperates with a series of apertures spaced about the nut barrel periphery. This allows the nut barrel to rotate with the screw, ending screw advancement and jaw closure despite continued screw rotation, when the predetermined resistance to jaw movement is encountered.
