To Immobilize Nut Patents (Class 269/195)
  • Patent number: 6202997
Abstract: A work vice of a work includes a first moving base slidably attached to a slide guide arranged in parallel with an elongated fundamental base in a longitudinal direction of the fundamental base, a second moving base capable of approaching an advancing direction side of the first moving base and being separated on the advancing direction side and sent out toward an advancing direction of the first moving base by a feed screw attached to the first moving base, a plurality of positioning means arranged at a predetermined pitch in the fundamental base to position and fix a leg portion side of the first moving base, a movable claw arranged on an advancing direction side of the second moving base and gripping one end of a work, and a pent roof portion having a gate shape and integrally formed with an upper portion of the second moving base on the first moving base side, a lower face of the pent roof portion slidably coming in contact with the first moving base on a sliding face parallel to the slide guide.

  • Patent number: 6079704
Abstract: A workholding apparatus has an improved positioning assembly centering top jaw members grippingly supporting a workpiece. The workholding apparatus includes a base member defining a horizontally elongate guide channel which opens upwardly through a top surface to form a guide passage. At least first and second jaw assemblies are disposed in longitudinally spaced relation along the respective guide passage, the first and second jaw assemblies each including a bottom jaw element which is slidably positioned for longitudinal displacement within the guide passage, and a top jaw member releasably mounted on the bottom jaw element. The workholding apparatus includes an actuator assembly for effecting movement of the movable jaw members longitudinally along a path formed by the guide passage. The bottom jaw elements each include a push plate element mounted in the guide passage on the inner side thereof.

  • Patent number: 4986519
Abstract: A vice includes a base, a rectangular positioning body, a block and a fastening assembly. The base has a track and a fixed jaw formed at a first end thereof and a movable jaw provided on the track at a second end thereof. A first rectangular recess is formed on an underside of the base for receiving the rectangular positioning body. The rectangular positioning body has a central slot extending longitudinally and defining two longitudinal side walls. A plurality of holes are formed on each longitudinal side wall of the positioning body. A second recess is provided on an underside of the positioning body and extending along a length of the slot in the longitudinal direction and extending transversely a distance half the width of the longitudinal side walls such that the holes are notched. A projection protrudes from an end of the top surface of the positioning body and is located below the fixed jaw when the positioning body is received in the first recess of the base.

  • Patent number: 4562999
Abstract: The helically threaded spindle (5) of the vise is arranged in an inclined fashion in the movable jaw (3) and is held in a pivotable as well as axially fixed manner. The spindle nut (7) is displaceably guided in a longitudinal recess (9) of the bed (1), is spring-loaded in the direction toward the fixed jaw (spring 18), and is provided with a cross pin (17). The cross pin (17) is adapted to be anchored in a series of downwardly open slots (20, 21, 22) rectangular in cross section. Upon tightening the previously released spindle (5), the pin (17) slides to the subsequent slot (21) and engages therein, whereupon the horizontal component of its obliquely upwardly direction movement pushes the movable jaw (3) forwards for clamping the workpiece (4).

  • Patent number: 4243213
Abstract: The invention concerns an adjustable precision grinding and machinist vise which has a novel mechanism for precisely clamping metal pieces, tools, and other articles between a movable jaw and a stationary jaw. The vise is made such that it can be mounted on larger machines such as lathes, drills, milling machines, surface grinders and the like. The device employs a series of notches in the base as a guide means to stabilize clamping. A pin engages, at its lower end, a guide with opposite flanges which guide also has a central wedge with an arcuate load bearing surface. The pin extends through a rotatable clamp disposed within an angling shoulder on the movable jaw. The pin is disposed through the movable jaw and into a chamber in the base for engagement in the guide means to thereby insure precise positioning.
