  • Patent number: 9328750
Abstract: A strap clamp arranged to securely cinch a strap around a target object is described. The strap clamp includes a bar and a clutch assembly slideably mounted on the bar. A strap is carried by the clutch assembly and a strap fastener is attached to the bar. The strap fastener is arranged to releasably engage the strap. When the strap fastener is engaged, the strap is held fixed relative to the bar thereby forming a loop between the fastener and the clutch assembly. When the strap fastener is released, the strap may be pulled through the fastener to adjust the length of the loop. The clutch assembly may include a clutch mechanism, an actuator and a clutch release. The clutch mechanism prevents the clutch assembly from moving away from the strap fastener when engaged. The actuator is arranged to move the clutch assembly towards the strap fastener when actuated.

  • Patent number: 7784388
Abstract: A blade clamping device comprises a main body which includes two opposited sidewalls and a base plate connected therebetween for defining a cavity for receiving a blade therein. A fixing device mounted between the two sidewalls. A pivot lever is pivotly mounted on the main body about an axis for driving the fixing device to fix or release the blade. A spring is biased between the main body and the pivot lever, which can hold the pivot lever in a predetermined position at which the fixing device clamps the blade tightly. The blade clamping device of the present invention can be kept in the position where the blade is released such that the blade can be easily detached or inserted as required. Furthermore, the operation becomes convenient and easy because of the short moving distance of the operation handle when an operator turns round the pivot lever to fix or release blade.

  • Patent number: 7121008
Abstract: The invention relates to a powered reciprocating saw. To simplify use of the saw, a clamping mechanism is provided which holds an object in position while it is sawn. The clamping mechanism is mounted at the front of the housing of the saw near the saw blade. The clamping mechanism comprises: a slide element for sliding movement in the cutting direction, a supporting member, and a clamping arm rotatably mounted on the slide element by a one way clutch to clamp an object therebetween in a clamping position below the saw blade. When the saw is in use, it vibrates. Since the clamping arm has a moment of inertia with respect to the axis of rotation of the one way clutch, the oscillating movement is transformed into a progressive rotational movement of the clamping arm to clamp an object.

The linkage assembly is connected to a linear actuator for converting linear actuator motion into rotary clamp motion between a clamped position and an unclamped position. The linkage assembly provides a first link having an aperture for receiving a pin and a roller wherein the roller is coaxially connected o the pin. The second link is pivotally connected to the first link, and the third link is pivotally connected to the second link. The roller of the first link rollably engages a surface on the third link when moving in and out of the clamped position. • Patent number: 6449851
Abstract: The invention relates to a powered reciprocating saw, in particular, to a pruning saw. To simplify use of the saw, a clamping mechanism is provided which holds an object in position while it is sawed. The clamping mechanism includes a clamping arm that is mounted at the front portion of the saw housing near the blade by a one way rotary clutch such that the arm can freely rotate in only one direction. During use, the saw vibrates due to its reciprocating parts. Since the clamping arm has a center of mass spaced apart from the axis of rotation provided by the one way rotary clutch, a progressive rotational movement of the clamping arm results which thereby automatically closes to clamp the object to be cut.

The vise includes a planar base member with an integral threaded post upstanding from its central portion and a platform threadedly received on the post. A plurality of elongated gripper members are pivotally mounted intermediate their ends on the platform about axes which are tangent to a circle whose center lies within a bone receiving and engaging region. Each gripper member has a toothed surface at one end adjacent the bone receiving and engaging region and a cam surface at the opposite end weight biased into engagement with the base member. Rotation of the platform in one direction causes movement thereof away from the base member and enlargement of the bone receiving and holding region for insertion or removal of the bone.

  • Patent number: 4778163
Abstract: A pair of air cylinders are provided on the stand for holding a printed circuit board. A first jaw includes a sleeve having spiral slots at opposite ends which register with straight slots in sleeve sections on a second jaw and pins carried on an air cylinder and a piston rod head extend into the aligned slots. A spring normally contracts the air cylinder and air pressure overcomes the spring action to expand the cylinder and pivot the second jaw to a closed position relative to the first jaw for clamping the circuit board. In an alternative embodiment, the air cylinder is integral with a second jaw and a pin carried on the rod head moves in a spiral slot in a sleeve on the first jaw.

  • Patent number: 4778375
Abstract: In the production of shaped plastic elements using deep-drawable thermoplastic film, a tension frame is required to clamp the film. The tension frame is formed by lengthwise and transverse frame parts, on the outside edges of which is located one angle clamp on each. The angle clamps can be actuated by means of closure levers into a releasable clamping position, in which the clamp arms of the angle clamp press with force against bottom fixing members of the frame parts.

  • Patent number: 4769888
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for repair of automotive radiators is disclosed, usable for recoring of either brass or plastic tank radiators, including clamping gates providing parallel rails adjustably spaced to receive the radiator header with an air cylinder exerting clamping pressure on the tank top. The radiator sits atop the rails of a first set of clamping gates when resoldering conventional tanks and is recessed between the rails of a second set of clamping gates which are alternatively installed for decrimping and crimping of the header tabs of plastic tank radiators. Decrimping and crimping hand tools of special configuration are also disclosed, cooperating with the rails during use.

  • Patent number: 4743002
Abstract: An improved mechanism for automatically clamping a die tool to a press bed or press ram. The automatic die clamp is self-locking and self-compensating to provide a failsafe operation in the clamped position and thus the mechanism retains the clamp in the clamped position. A ramp is provided to guide the movement of a wedge which wedge movement controls the movement of a clamping member. A spring bias may be provided as an optional feature to assist in the self-locking. Release of the clamp requires the application of an external force to overcome the locking of the teeth.
