Abstract: An articulating adapter allowing increased clamping and holding capabilities of a common vise or tool at a plurality of angles having a base mounting plate (12) attached to a table (T). The rotating plate (14) has a mounting means (24) to allow the turning on a horizontal plane while having a hinged means to the articulating plate (16) allowing movement from 0 to at least 90 degrees from horizontal. The rotating plate (14) and the articulating plate (16) are attached via a set of links (18) and a slotted link (20) and having a set on each side with a locking means (34) and (36) to set at a given plurality of angles as needed. The articulating plate (16) additionally allows a variety of sizes and types of vises or tools to be attached.
Abstract: A miter box is provided with a simple demountable and adjustable board stop which operates in conjunction with the horizontal upper edge of the miter box backstop to position a board, such as a piece of cove molding, in an acute vertical angular position with respect to the miter box table which allows the board to be cut at the compound angle required for a mitered butt joint in which the cut pieces are mounted at the same relative angle in which they are positioned in the miter box. The box also includes a simple frictional locking mechanism to set the pivotable saw carriage in any selected horizontal angular position over the full range provided by the miter box.
Abstract: A pneumatically powered test fixture for bracing, holding and/or handling solid, bulky objects such as gas meters or the like. The fixture readily permits service or repairs and renders meters readily accessible and easily maneuverable. A rigid frame is adapted to be secured to a stable workbench or support, and an optional support plate may couple the frame to the support surface. A rigid mounting spacer secured to the frame mounts a pneumatically powered trunnion. When an optional frame mounting plate is omitted, the trunnion mounting spacer will be affixed directly to the workbench. A rigid, U-shaped cradle captivates a meter to be repaired or serviced. The cradle is rotatably suspended above the supporting surface by the trunnion, and the cradle can be manually rotated into a variety of user-selectable positions to readily expose all structural portions of the meter.
Abstract: Articulated support arm apparatus for use by an operator which comprises a base and first and second arms supported by said base. A work device is supported by said arms. A dual axis joint interconnects said first and second arms. The joint is movable between locked and unlocked positions. In the unlocked position the work device is movable by the operator to a desired position and in a locked position the work device is held in a predetermined position.
