Puzzles Patents (Class 273/153R)
  • Patent number: 4015852
Abstract: A puzzle includes a game board which is subdivided into a plurality of pre-designated areas. Each of the areas is bounded by an upstanding wall in which there is at least one opening. A plurality of string-like elements are connected at one end to first connecting means located in one of the areas and are adapted at the other ends to be detachably connected to respective ones of a plurality of second connecting means located separately in selected other areas.

  • Patent number: 4014550
Abstract: An electronic game for finding which one of 12 signals is different than the other signals and whether it is larger or smaller in magnitude includes 12 single pole double throw center-off toggle switches. A circular shift register is initialized with a digital one state in only one cell and clocked for a random period of time while an INITIALIZE button is depressed. Each cell of the shift register feeds a different one of the switch wipers. First and second contacts of the switches are respectively fed to different OR gates which in turn feed a random inverting means whose outputs feed drive a meter for comparing the sums of signals on the first and second contacts.

  • Patent number: 4008895
Abstract: A maze has two opposing substantially coextensive walls one of which forms an inner three-dimensional form or shell and the other which forms an outer form or shell. Each of the shells is generally in the form of a cube and the inner shell is fixedly positioned within the outer shell so as to maintain a predetermined, uniform distance between the inner and outer walls. The outer wall is formed with a network of channels which, together with the inner wall, define a corresponding network of passageways. The passageways on each side of the outer cube are connected to the passageways on the adjacent sides of the cube so as to form interconnected passageways which permit one or more marbles, for example, to move through the passageways on one or more sides of the cube with changes in orientation of the maze in space. Apertures are provided in at least one passageway on each side of the cube for providing points of entry and exit for the marbles into and out of the maze.

  • Patent number: 4005865
Abstract: Provided is a three-dimensional amusement device comprising a hollow transparent container. Within the container is wrapped, in a multitude of bends and directions, a hollow, transparent tube joined at its ends by a joining plug, thereby forming a continuous, multi-planar three-dimensional passageway network located entirely within the container. The joining plug is marked to indicate start and finish, and forms a carrier in the passageway. Within the passageway is located a small bead of mercury capable of moving as a bead through the continuous passageway from one end of the plug to the other. The object of the amusement is to tilt the container in such a fashion as to work the mercury bead from one end of the plug to the other via the continuous passageway.

  • Patent number: 3989255
Abstract: A bean-like member is placed into one end of a maze of hollow, flexible, transparent tubing with an inside diameter greater than the maximum width of the bean. The object of the puzzle is to cause the bean to drop into the interior of a cup with a detachable cap. The cup is secured to the tubing. The bean is caused to traverse the tubing by shaking and rotating the unit.

  • Patent number: 3979840
Abstract: A device for developing and also determining the ability of a child or adult in solving a logical problem; the device in its most elementary form consisting of a closed rectangular box having a transparent front side to allow observation inside, the box having an opening near a pair of diagonally opposite corners so a reward such as a candy or the like is dropped through one of the openings into the box interior after which the opening is closed, and a player then attempts to shake the reward out of the other opening in a minimum time and claim the reward.

  • Patent number: 3966209
Abstract: A number problem game includes a playing board having a top planar surface, seven boxes contained on the top planar surface, each box formed from nine squares, the nine squares arranged in three horizontal and three vertical rows intersecting each other, and a plurality of sets of playing discs with each disc having numbered indicia thereon, the indicia on each disc within a set being identical with the indicia on all other discs in that set, the indicia for each set differing from the indicia of every other set, the indicia of the respective sets including the respective numbers one to eight, each set including at least ten discs, the discs positionable in the squares of the seven boxes for forming fifty six multiple digit numbers of a three digit character in the seven boxes.

  • Patent number: 3961439
Abstract: A pictorial amusement device for children consisting of two cooperating parts, a generally cubical block having four side surfaces and top and bottom surfaces, the side surfaces having representations thereon of a human figure from the shoulders down in four different attires depicting different human activities, and a cylindrical block dimensioned to be received in a central socket in the top surface of the cubical block. The cylindrical block has a length approximately twice the depth of the socket, approximately half of which has a representation on the outer surface thereof of a human head with a smiling face and the other half of which has a representation of a human head with a frowning face, the smiling and frowning faces being inverted relative to each other.

  • Patent number: 3955630
Abstract: An amusing and challenging device composed of a closed container divided into a plurality of chambers by a barrier, or barriers, and a plurality of movable bodies, usually spherical, encased therein. The container, barrier and movable bodies are of electrically insulating material and the movable bodies are of such small size that after the container is agitated, a sufficient static electrical charge is produced by the friction on the movable bodies so as to cause them to adhere to the walls of the chambers. The objective of this device is to challenge ones ability to locate all of the movable objects into one chamber after the unit has been sufficiently agitated, therefore the container and barriers are made of transparent materials to allow easy viewing of the objects therein. In the presently preferred form of the device there is one barrier, dividing the container into two chambers, and a plurality of movable spherical objects.
