  • Patent number: 5102143
Abstract: The preferred embodiment of this invention features a trading game in which some or all of the activities, features and events related to a stock exchange or the like, may be simulated for the enjoyment of 2 or more players. The game consists of 5 sessions and 3 steps in each session and it is played on a simple game board characterized by providing a distinct trading symbol in each of the playing spaces therein, for the players to select at least one trading symbol per turn to conduct simulated trading transactions. The value of the simulated investments represented therein are subject to change during the game and at game-end, the player accumulating the most play money over his/her start up funds, wins the game. This invention also provides a method of continuing playing, thereby linking together the 5 sessions game with a plurality of succeeding completed 5 sessions games. The game closes after every 5 sessions game and re-opens to run continuously over an undetermined period of time.

Abstract: A game is disclosed using random movement of playing pieces by players to teach biblical principles. The game includes a board having a playing path divided into several spaces. A playing piece, one for each player, is placed on the "Start" space and oriented to represent religiously "unconverted" players. The playing pieces move counterclockwise along the path in accordance to the roll of the dice. Counterclockwise movement continues until a playing piece lands on a "Sunday" space, at which point the corresponding player throws the dice again. If the number on the dice is even, the player remains "unconverted" and continues to move counterclockwise. If the number on the dice is odd, the playing piece is reversed to indicate that the player is religiously "converted", and moves the playing piece in a clockwise direction for the rest of the game. Property spaces, property deeds and play money provide players the opportunity to invest while moving along the path.

Abstract: The present invention is a word association game for two or more players. The game is played with game score sheet, a timer, a spinner, a category card deck and a play word deck. The players spin the spinner and the one with the highest score is the starter. That person selects a play word from a list which is provided with the game. The word is then revealed to all players who write it across the top of their game score sheet. Each player then spins the spinner to determine which category they are to select a card from and that category is listed in various squares along the side of the score sheet. The players then fill in words associated with that category and beginning with each letter of the playword in the square over the top of the score sheet. The timer is set for some predetermined period during which the players must try to fill in all the squares under the letters. When the timer signals that time has expired, the players are scored for their responses, and the one with the highest score wins.

  • Patent number: 4902017
Abstract: A war simulation board game utilizes a playing board having a grid pattern of square segments, each square having a centrally located circular target zone. Game pieces simulating war vehicles move on the grid pattern according to a spinner. Opposing players "fire" on each other's game pieces and headquarter zones by placing the tip of an ink marker on a target zone of a square occupied by one of their game pieces and orienting the marker in a vertical position, supported by an index finger contacting a butt end portion of the marker. The player then applies an external force to the marker forcing the marker tip to freely slide away from the target zone and forcing the marker to leave contact with the player's index finger as it falls in an arcuate motion. The sliding marker tip forms an ink line segment simulating a projectile shot path on the board surface. If the resulting ink line segment passes through a target zone of a square occupied by an opposing game piece, the "shot" is scored as a hit.

Game play instructions, required responses and awards, are contained in a program memory within a base on which the character is mounted. Carried by the base are a player input touch pad including the letters of the alphabet and individual player input buttons as well as a gridwork of lightable spaces. Animation of different features of the character is initiated at different times in response to audio signals emanating from the voice synthesis, or from an interfaced tape player, through an animation drive powered by a single motor. The animiation drive includes a shaft carrying relatively rotatable components some of which are rotated by other of the components after a predetermined amount of rotation by such other components. Movement of the character's mouth is accomplished by a second motor having a drive engaging the edge of an inner extension of the lower jaw.

Abstract: A relatively simple, easy to play oil exploration game includes a rectangular parallelepipedic casing with a bottom drawer in one end thereof for carrying the game pieces. A horizontal bottom wall extends between the sides and ends of the casing defining a cover for the drawer. A plurality of partitions or panels are removably mounted in the open top of the casing. The top surface of the uppermost panel defines a playing surface. Each panel has a plurality of spaced apart, vertically aligned, circular openings defining oil wells. Irregularly shaped obstacles defining wet drilling locations or oil-containing wells are slidably mounted on the bottom wall and on the partitions beneath the uppermost panel. Simulated derricks of varying lengths are insertable into the top wall openings to simulate the drilling of wells and indicator pegs are subsequently insertable into drilled wells to indicate the presence or absence of oil.

Abstract: A game board which simulates the play action of a team sporting event. The board is a representation of the playing area for the event and is divided into zones. Indicia spots are randomly arranged in each zone and are normally masked. During play, the spots are unmasked in sequence. The play moves from zone to zone, as determined by the indicia within the spot unmasked in the previous play, each indicia being coupled to a specific zone. Selected indicia indicate a goal is scored and selected indicia also indicate that a period of play is ended. The masking is preferably accomplished by a covering for the indicia spot which may be removed by peeling or by rubbing off.

  • Patent number: 4385949
Abstract: The invention relates to methods for making laminate patterns for a resin matrix composite structural component. A sheet of paper (28) is temporarily adhered to a model (26) of the structural component. Pen (13) is positioned on paper (28) with spindle (24) touching the model surface opposite the pen. The pen and spindle are moved along the path that maintains the aforementioned contacts. The resulting line (31) traced on paper (28) is a model constant-thickness locus and provides a pattern for a single lamination of resin-impregnated fabric. The steps are repeated to make other patterns and each time the steps are repeated the distance between the tracer and the spindle is changed to correspond to the thickness of a lamination.
