  • Patent number: 11351448
Abstract: A game using cards or virtual cards that are used by players during game play to dynamically create a board representing a territorial expanse. Game play takes place within the context of a narrative or story line for the characters playing the game wherein the narrative develops and unfolds according to explicit choices the player makes at multiple opportunities to choose among several options. The player choices that direct the game play and narrative are intended to ultimately resolve a goal-oriented quest or attain an objective assigned to the player's character. The game play and the assembly of the cards or virtual cards to form the territory arise from the characters' exploration of territory represented by a plurality of numbered cards and by the characters' interaction with other features of the cards and with the features of non-numbered cards.

Abstract: A puzzle game of the present invention consists of a field of play having associated positions upon which place-indicators are placed during game play along a predetermined game path. Placement of the place-indicators represents a sequential series of steps from a starting point along a game path in the field of play to an end point. Each of the steps is dependent on a predetermined step pattern and the place-indicator is placed on the position upon which the end of the step pattern falls. The solution to the puzzle is achieved by the placement of all place-indicators between the starting point and the end point. In order to indicate a particular game path, at least two place-indicators are pre-placed as givens in the solution. The place-indicators may be, by non-limiting example, numerals, letters or a group of shapes with a predetermined series displayed on the game play interface, but outside of the field of play.

  • Patent number: 6983937
Abstract: A dynamic non-static game board is formed at the beginning of each game by the players each placing tiles having playing spaces which may have side walls. The walls create a maze configuration through which pieces move. To win, one must move all of one's pieces, 1–5 depending on difficulty level, from one side of the board and off the opposite side. A random number selection means such as dice indicates the number of spaces to be moved. On some turns at least one visual indicator for a “stack” move and another for side a “slide” move appear simultaneously with a number. A stack allows a player to stack a tile on top of an existing tile to alter the configuration of the maze. A slide allows a player to slide another tile into one end of one row, thus pushing an existing tile off the other end of the row and possibly altering the maze configuration. The strategy game may be programmed and displayed on a visual media such as a video game or on the world wide web.

  • Patent number: 5224711
Abstract: A simulated motion board game in which a player is able to effectively simulate a continuum of sequential motion of one or more subjects contained within scenes of motion individually pictorially depicted on the faces of respective game elements. The representation of a sequence of continuous motion of the subject is independent of the order in which the tiles are placed next to one another. An edge portion of a scene immediately adjacent to the left/right hand edge of one motion tile will always provide a complementary extension of the motion within that portion of the scene immediately adjacent to the right/left hand edge of any other motion tile. As a consequence, even though the particular sequence of continuous motion will depend upon the events depicted in individual ones of the tiles, plural motion tiles placed in side-by-side adjacency with one another will always produce a continuum of motion of the subject traversing the depicted scene.

  • Patent number: 5188364
Abstract: An amusement game is formed with a serpentine path formed of various segments. The segments include various hazards, wherein locomotion tool structure is arranged to direct token discs along various top surfaces of the segments, whereupon displacement of the predetermined top surfaces of the discs relative to the top surfaces effects repositioning of the discs to starting the path anew.

  • Patent number: 5108109
Abstract: The invention consists of a game composed of a plurality of tiles which are arranged to form a playing surface, each tile divided into a plurality of subunits, each subunit having a plurality of distinguishing characteristics, a plurality of pawns which can occupy these subunits and can move on this surface. The players start the game by placing the tiles on a table and the pawns on the subunits to create an initial layout. Play then progresses with each play consisting of the movement of a tile to create a new layout or the movement of a pawn on the playing surface. The tiles may be arranged in an arbitrary manner subject to the constraint that the resulting configuration must always be connected and subunits on one tile must be aligned with subunits on adjacent tiles. A particular subconfiguration of pawns and tiles is designated as the goal and the player achieving this configuration wins the game.

  • Patent number: 5058896
Abstract: An educational tool in the form of a word game is disclosed. Each player starts on his own colored starting point at the bottom of the game area. Each player is represented by a colored alphabet set of blocks that are selected before the start of the game. During successive turns, the players must travel up and across the board by forming words while using one letter from the previous word, and must return the remaining letters to a return section of a tray with the letters facing down. All the letters used by a player from his selector holder to form a word must be substituted by the letters from a surplus section of a supply tray. To accomplish their goal and win the game, the players must enter their respective color goal or finish point on the top of the game area. If in a turn more than one player reaches his goal, the winner will be the one having the most letters in his color goal.

Thirty-three movable tablets are placed in the spaces between the fixed tablets, to make a 7.times.7 square. The tablets are marked out with roads to define paths along which counters may be moved, towards a target tablet. One extra movable tablet is provided, by means of which a player can push a row of the movable tablets, thus improving the road layout, and enabling him to move his counter towards the target. The game apparatus includes target cards, and game money.

  • Patent number: 4801147
Abstract: A game board bearing indicia defining a plurality of adjoining game spaces, a plurality of sets of distinctive markers for placing in the spaces to progressively outline design patterns allotted to the various game players by radomly drawing game cards bearing the patterns, and design pattern-making pads, score-keeping pads and game rules. In accordance with the method of play, order of play by the players is first determined, then the individual design patterns are drawn by card by the players, after which each player secretly determines where to outline the selected pattern on the game board and secretly records that selection on a pattern-recording sheet. Thereupon, each player, in turn, places a marker on a space on the game board in order to progressively complete that player's pattern. Points are awarded for first finishing a pattern, blocking another player's pattern and first reaching an intersection of patterns. The player who first accumulates a predetermined point total or completes a pattern wins.

Abstract: A game is provided for educational and recreational use which includes an outer housing with a cut out opening, having a main drive gear and a plurality of ball control gears around the cut out. A spring impelled pop up plate is provided within the housing onto which magnetically retained gear devices are placed to provide gear trains between the main drive gear and the ball control gears for rotation and discharge of balls used with the game. The plate position is controlled by a timer to cause the plate to pop up at the end of a predetermined time interval and to break up the gear trains formed by the gear devices. The game can then be reset for the same or for a different time interval.
