Game Board Structure Patents (Class 273/287)
  • Patent number: 6588755
Abstract: The present invention is a game. The game board used is shaped like a triangle. The board has three sides with at least four primary interlocking base pieces and three secondary interlocking angle pieces connecting the sides, creating a triangular board. The game also uses a plurality of tetrahedra, where four tetrahedron pieces form a pyramid with square base. Each tetrahedron piece has a centralized hole on its face that is showing when a pyramid is formed. The game also includes symbols that can be fixedly attached and removed from the faces of the tetrahedron pieces. At the vertex of the triangular board is a primary base piece which holds one player's chosen combination to be guessed by the other player. The other player tries to guess the combination of symbols, colors, and directions that the player has chosen and hidden behind a shield.

Abstract: A grid of points is constructed from the following four layers: A transparent membrane keyboard with a press-sensitive area at each grid point A layer of a uniform, translucent material below the membrane keyboard. A separation layer of opaque material below the translucent layer, which for each grid point has a circular hole with reflecting or very light walls. A PCB below the separation layer, on which two or more light sources per grid point are mounted, and also carries the circuitry to drive them. The four layers are held together, and the thickness of the separation layer is such that the light sources are not immediately below the translucent area, but some distance away. The membrane keyboard and the control of the light sources are both connected to a CPU with some memory which uses them to manage various games and puzzles.

  • Patent number: 6581933
Abstract: The invention is a three-dimensional, pyramid-shaped, word forming game having a plurality of levels independently rotatable around a vertical support column secured to a base. The game is played with cards of four different colors, which correspond to the same colors of the pyramids' sides. Players take turns inserting playing cards into card holding slots located on the outer edges of the levels in an attempt to spell words. The levels freely rotate in either direction. Each letter-bearing card has a point value associated with it and players earn points for words spelled on the pyramid shaped game. The game is won by the player with the most points for words spelled out on the game.

Abstract: A game board structure for a construction toy set. A basic game board is formed of three generally rectangular panel assemblies of hollow construction. The panels have interengaging projections and recesses for mechanically locking the panels together to form a flat playing surface for various rolling ball games, such as pinball and speedball. Joining of the panels automatically connects the panels together electrically for scoring and control functions throughout the board. The assembled game board accommodates mounting of a score-indicating panel in different locations, for different playing modes, such as pinball, typically played by one person, and head-to-head games, such as speedball, played by two persons.

  • Patent number: 6572109
Abstract: A game of reasoning having a triangular game board is disclosed. Players are given a pre-defined time limit to respond to questions based on scenarios likely to be encountered by the game's preferred teenage players. Thereafter, a secondary point of view choice must be made. Points and penalties correspond to the selected responses. By correctly responding, players advance from a base of the game board to a zenith thereof. Once all players of a participating team reach the zenith, that team is declared the winner. Responses to questions are input by means of a game pad. The game board is formed of independent blocks stacked in a triangular shape divided into two sides. Each block includes at least one viewable face sectioned into equal parts corresponding to the number of team players. The sections include means of unique color illumination such that the progress of each player can be monitored.

  • Patent number: 6254101
Abstract: A floor game including tiles which are laid on a playing surface forming a playing area, and an optical instrument. Each tile is covered by a polarized film. A path across the playing area is revealable by utilizing the optical instrument available to a game facilitator. The players see a design on the playing area. A path across the playing area is invisible to players not wearing the optical instrument. Each player traverses the path with assistance of the game facilitator and by observing steps taken by the previous players. The object of the game is for players to discover and traverse the path across the playing area from end to end through a team effort. In an alternative embodiment, the game is played with one or more teams utilizing one or more playing areas with each team trying to complete a path on their respective playing area.

Abstract: A game of skill includes a playing board having a perimeter surrounding a playing area divided into equally sized boxes, wherein each box is marked with an identifying element, such as a geometric shape and/or symbol of a particular color. The identifying elements dictate the permitted direction of movement of corresponding playing pieces along avenues formed by the arrangement of identifying elements within the boxes. Scoring points are indicated at the juncture of four box corners, identifying the center of four adjacently positioned boxes in a square area. The playing pieces are provided in contrasting colors to identify each player. Each player is provided with four sets of playing pieces, the playing pieces in each set being of a particular group to identify the permitted movement of the playing pieces of that group. Abstract: A stacking block game includes a plurality of game blocks stackable in layers, and an elongate sleeve comprising four planar sides defining an interior for retaining the game blocks in layers in the interior. Apertures are provided in the sides, coincide with the game block layers and are dimensioned for passing the game blocks therethrough. The game blocks have a cuboid shape and colored indicia on the faces thereof, and are inserted in the sleeve interior in layers of four game blocks. The stacking block game is played by assigning a different indicia to each player, and then each player ejecting one of the game blocks from the sleeve interior, in turn, by pressing a previously-ejected game block through one of the apertures and against a game block opposite the game block to be ejected. Generally, each player makes a note of the indicia on the uppermost face of the previously ejected game block, and then presses that game block against the indicia of a game block in the sleeve matching the noted indicia.
