  • Patent number: 5662325
Abstract: Discs bearing markings or other indicators that differentiate them from each other are used to randomly select one of a number of possible outcomes. The discs may thus be used to introduce an element of chance in games. Each disc has two sides, one of which is marked with a number. The discs may be grouped into sets. The number marked on each disc in a set is the same as that of all other discs in that set, but is different from that of all discs in other sets. To use the discs to randomly select an outcome, a person stacks all the discs on top of one another. The person then topples the stack by tossing a heavier or larger disc at the stack. The outcome may be used to play a board game. Each disc may have several distinct types of indicators. Each indicator type may correspond to a different game, and each indicator type may be used in a different way to determine the outcome of that game. Alternatively, an indicator type may be used to determine a number of spaces to move a playing piece on the game board.

The auxiliary line segments create a second set of intersecting points on the board which may be used as an aid in identifying the location of potential triangles. The game pieces may be played selectively with their face or back directed upwards to designate the players and are provided with markings to identify said face and back. The equilateral triangles are formed by players strategically placing their pieces, in turn one piece at a time, on the unoccupied specially marked intersecting points.

  • Patent number: 4733869
Abstract: A game apparatus comprises a board having a playing area divided into two cartels. Each cartel is allocated an equal number of weighted contest tokens which are placed within each cartel. Players wager contest tokens in successive rounds of play. A spinner determines whether contest tokens wagered for each turn will be removed from or added to the playing area. The number of tokens wagered are determined by player selected groups of transaction outcomes and a chance device. Contest tokens removed from the playing area are placed on a designated side of a calibrated scale. With the completion of each turn, the balance or imbalance of the scale determines the odds of the outcomes for each cartel in the following turn. Cards from one of two sets are drawn by each cartel at the end of each turn, one set for the cartel achieving the greatest disarmament in the turn, the other set for the other cartel. Each cartel may accumulate cards for redemption at a later turn.

  • Patent number: 4498674
Abstract: A board game for two to four players in which each player is assigned an individual, flippable, playing piece that is used to chase an exchangable general playing piece which is able to earn points. The players move their pieces on a board having a number of paths of spaced indicia with reversible and collectable markers positioned atop the indicia. Initially one of the players is determined to be the one using the exchangable playing piece. The exchangable piece carries a spinner for determining its advancability. The other players, using another spinner, chase and try to catch the exchangable piece with the aggressive character of their assigned pieces facing upwardly. When an encounter between the general piece and one of the assigned pieces occurs, the outcome is determined by which side of the assigned piece faces upwardly. The character of the assigned pieces may be changed either by the spinner or by returning to the starting position.

  • Patent number: 4221389
Abstract: Game apparatus for a game which has a board representing a battlefield divided into a plurality of spaces to receive game pieces. The spaces are in a rectangular grid having a first pair of oppositely disposed margins having adjacent spaces representing trenches, and a second pair of oppositely disposed margins having adjacent spaces representing gun positions. Gun pieces located in the gun positions are oriented before firing so that their range is unknown to the opponent and pairs of guns can be interchanged before the guns have been fired, which is a realistic representation of a battlefield situation. Some spaces on the board are designated as being within range of a particular type of gun and tank pieces moving along the board from one trench towards the other trench are subjected to gun fire from an opponent's guns, if he so desires, when positioned on a particular space within range of a particular gun.
