    Abstract: A roll-out apparatus, method, and system is disclosed for deployment in a subterranean well at a setting location. The roll-out apparatus, method, and system includes a load ring and an energizing ring. The load ring may include an outer surface having an outer circumference and a slot extending through the entire wall thickness that follows a circuitous path from a front face to a back face of the load ring. The energizing ring includes an outer surface configured to contact an inner surface of the load ring to enlarge the outer circumference of the load ring in a radial direction. This causes the outer surface of the load ring to seal to an inner surface of the subterranean well at the setting location.

    Abstract: An improved life hydraulic valve actuator for a mold used in an injection molding machine. The actuator includes a housing for insertion into a hot runner assembly having a movable valve gate pin. A bore in the housing for receives an actuation piston which is connected to the gate pin. A hydraulic chamber in the assembly lifts the piston upward and downward for actuation of the pin in a valve gate. The actuation piston includes a centrally located circumferential double lip seal. The wall of the bore includes a pair of circumferential seals for engaging the outer circumference of the piston. The seals are positioned axially on either side of said centrally located double lip seal of the piston for sealing and guiding the piston. The circumferential bore seals include a Teflon ring which protects the bore in the event of seal failure and a second seal made of a Viton material. The seals in combination increase the longevity of the actuator over three fold than a similar actuation valve.

    Abstract: A tip seal for use in a scroll-type vacuum pump includes a seal element and an energizer element affixed to the seal element. The scroll-type vacuum pump includes first and second scroll blades that are nested together to define one or more interblade pockets, and an eccentric drive that produces orbiting movement of the first scroll blade relative to the second scroll blade. At least one of the first and second scroll blades has a seal groove along an edge thereof. The tip seal is positioned in the seal groove between the first and second scroll blades. The energizer element is formed of a resilient material having multiple compressible voids, so that the energizer element having compressible voids is more compressible than the resilient material alone, when confined by the seal groove. In one embodiment, the energizer element is a foam such as a low porosity urethane foam. In another embodiment, the energizer element is an elastomer material having a predetermined pattern of voids.
