  • Patent number: 6435756
Abstract: In order to provide watertight properties between a spring socket (1) and a release socket (2) for a plug of a push-pull connector, a bellows expansion joint (5) is provided between the spring and release sockets. When the two sockets are spaced apart, the bellows expansion joint is in the rest (non-stressed) position. When the release socket is driven closer to the spring socket, a stress is exerted on the bellows expansion joint (6, 7). This helps to force back the release socket. By this structure, improvements are shown in the vibration resistance and, at the same time, in the watertightness of the plug of a push-pull connector.

  • Patent number: 6409179
Abstract: A cable sealing arrangement is provided for limiting the ingress of fluid into a location about a cable, such as a telephone wire enclosure, which generally includes a fitting, a sealing member, and a nut. The cable sealing arrangement provides a fluid-proof seal about a cable through radial expansion of the sealing member. Also, various slitted sealing members are provided each leaving at least one slit formed there through which allows for forced displacement of portions of the sealing member and insertion of a cable thereto. The slitted sealing members obviate the need for threading a sealing member over the entire length of a cable.

  • Patent number: 6406025
Abstract: A resilient compressible gasket having an embedment portion, a pipe engaging portion and a intermediate “radius” portion integral with the embedment and pipe engaging portions. The gasket assumes a “pleated” configuration when in the operative position, the pipe engaging portion extending through the embedment portion, yielding a gasket which compensates for deviation of the pipe from a nominal horizontal alignment without any reduction in the water-tight seal provided by the gasket. The gasket is sized to provide for easy insertion of a corrugated pipe into the pipe engaging portion while providing an excellent water-tight seal when clamped into position about one or more annular recesses and peaks of the corrugated pipe. Another embodiment of the gasket is designed to be secured to a cored or performed opening in a cast member through the use of an expansion-type clamping assembly.

  • Patent number: 6264203
Abstract: A method for repairing cracked jet pump riser assemblies in a boiling water reactor utilizes a spacer clamp and a seal collar. The spacer clamp is secured to the riser assembly to limit horizontal displacement of the riser assembly, and the seal collar is secured around the weld joining the riser elbow and the thermal sleeve to limit leakage from the weld over a predetermined range of horizontal displacement defined by the spacer clamp. A method for repairing a circumferential weld connecting an elbow of a jet pump riser assembly with a thermal sleeve involves positioning the weld within a seal collar and securing the seal collar on the jet pump riser assembly so that seals of the seal collar sealingly contact the elbow and the thermal sleeve, respectively, circumferentially on opposite sides of the weld.
