  • Patent number: 6268031
Abstract: An injection hose intended for sealing expansion joint in concrete structures. The hose is in the form a continuous hollow extrusion (12), made of elastic, flexible material, with a continuous longitudinal bore (10) and at least one longitudinal groove (16). The groove (16) is connected to the bore (10) by means of apertures (22) in the wall of the extrusion and is fitted with a sealing strip (24), made of compressible, elastic material, which extends over the apertures (22). Production of the hose is made particularly simple and inexpensive by virtue of the fact that the width of the groove openings (26) is less than the diameter of the sealing strip (24) and that the means of holding the sealing strip (24) in place are formed by making undercuts in the side (30) of the groove (16).

  • Patent number: 6267536
Abstract: A sealing arrangement (1) has two abutting construction elements made of concrete, steel, reinforced concrete, cast iron or other materials, as well as a sealing section made of an elastomer material which sealingly bridges the gap between the two construction elements. The construction elements are in particular segments (2, 2″) which are assembled into a tubular tunnel with transverse and longitudinal joints (3). Each segment is preferably provided with a continuous groove on all its abutting sides. An elongated sealing profile (5) is located in each groove, forming a sealing frame with frame corners. The sealing section has elongated open and/or closed flutes arranged on the section base side and elongated ducts arranged between the flutes and the section front side. The sealing section (5) also has at least two groups (A, B) of ducts of which the first (A) is located directly above the flutes while the other (B) is laterally offset with respect to the flutes.

  • Patent number: 6264207
Abstract: A seal using a seal body (1) which is subdivided in a latticework-like fashion into tensile struts (6) and compressive struts (7), forming cavities (8), and has an introduction portion (4) and can thus be used as a primary seal. The seal body (1) can be part of a seal arrangement (55) which includes a test and/or post-sealing space (56, 56a). In the case of pipe runs, an inner access line (60) or an outer access line (70) can be provided in order to test the sealing integrity of the seal and possibly to effect a post-sealing operation for leak-remedy purposes.

  • Patent number: 6254106
Abstract: A device for sealing a gap between two members. The device comprises at least one elastically expanding hose accommodated in a groove (2) in the wall of the gap. The hose can be expanded by a compressible fluid introduced through a rigid opening such that the hose cannot be displaced in relation to the opening. To provide a device that is easy to install and remove and that requires no straps to secure it, the hose (1) is inserted into the opening (3) and has one end loose and the other end secured by supports.

  • Patent number: 6244601
Abstract: A sealing system is disclosed having at least one sealing profiled section for the roof frame of the vehicle. The sealing profiled section is formed by a profile strip of at least one elastomer and by a reinforcement. The reinforcement is formed as prefabricated injection-molded plastics material part and, in a molding tool, is provided with the profile strip on at least a part of its external surface. The reinforcement has a substantially U-shaped cross-section over its entire length. The sealing system is three-dimensional and can be fixed to connecting pieces of the roof frame of the vehicle by fastening members. An end cap is formed on at least one end face of each sealing profiled section in the molding tool.

  • Patent number: 6116615
Abstract: A composite gasket for the door of an outdoor, electronic component containing cabinet includes a known type of gasket including an elongated hollow tubing for mounting on a door jamb of the cabinet, and a supplemental gasket of an electrically conductive material fixedly secured to one side of the hollow tubing and coextensive therewith entirely around the periphery of the door jamb. The known gasket provides a weather seal for the door. The supplemental gasket spans the gap between the door and the jamb established by the weather gasket for electrically interconnecting the door to the jamb and for sealing the door joint against electromagnetic radiations. The supplemental gasket is disposed entirely within the weather sealed space of the cabinet when the door is closed, and is so arranged as to provide no interference with the weather seal formed upon closing of the door.

  • Patent number: 6102407
Abstract: A joint seal is designed to maintain its proper position in the joint groove opening port to create an effective seal between the inner walls of the joint groove and to resist peeling or damage, even in an event, such as an earthquake, during which the adjacent outer wall materials shift; and to have a joint base material 2, a sealing material 3 and a heart wood 8. The joint base material 2 has at least two seal tongue pieces 14a and 14b projecting from the outer face of side plates 5, 5. A number of small openings 8 to allow sealing material to be pressed out at the insertion of heart wood 8 is punched between the seal tongue pieces 14a and 14b, and release mold sheets 18a and 18b are attached to joint base material 2 as a cap member covering the small openings 8 and the opening ports of side plates 5, 5.

  • Patent number: 6024364
Abstract: A seal that can be used in groove surfaces, in permanent glasswork, or in casement windows and is comprised of a sealing profile 1 having a profile base 3 and an anchoring wedge 2. On the side of the profile base 3 that is opposite the anchoring wedge 2, a sealing pad 4 and a sealing lip 5 are formed, and a nose strip 6 is positioned on the end of the sealing pad 4. These parts of the sealing profile 1 are made of a thermoplastic rubber. They are to be joined to the semi-finished closure of the window shortly following extrusion by the manufacturer. The corresponding semi-finished product can then be cut to size and joined by the window builder with the sealing profiles 1 being bonded together at the same time so that the entire seal is guaranteed. This makes the window builder's step of "inserting the sealing profile" completely unnecessary.
