Abstract: A fire-rated angle piece and wall assemblies or other assemblies that incorporate the fire-rated angle piece, in which the angle piece can include an intumescent or other fire-resistant material strip. The angle can be attached adjacent to a corner of a framing member, such as metal tracks, headers, header tracks, sill plates, bottom tracks, metal studs, wood studs or wall partitions, and placed between the framing member and a wall board member at a perimeter of a wall assembly to create a fire block arrangement. A fire spray material can be applied over a portion of the angle piece.
Abstract: The invention resides in a laparoscope, or camera, for a medical procedure, having a body having a distal end for locating in a patient and a proximal end for handling the laparoscope outside the patient. A camera is provided together with a light source at the distal end. An operable interface is provided adjacent the proximal end, for operating the camera and/or light source. A processor and data storage are located in the body and operable to provide an interface for managing the camera, light source and recording images. The laparoscopic camera can be self-contained such that it is operable without cables or external support devices. It can manage image recording, calibration and storage all within the camera. The invention also resides in a case for use with the laparoscope.

Abstract: An orifice plate carrier for an orifice plate fitting is disclosed in which the downstream surface of the carrier has a radial lip partially occluded the orifice plate opening. The lip is configured to define the axial position of the orifice plate in the carrier and to also establish a seal between the lip and the orifice plate seal member. An orifice plate carrier also may comprise an orifice plate insert configured to allow a single carrier to accept multiple orifice plate members. An insert may be configured to accept a first type of orifice seal member, but not a second type.

Abstract: An interface between two vehicle structures can be selectively sealed using an active seal. The active seal can include an outer casing and an actuator located within the outer casing. The actuator can include a bladder. The bladder can define a fluid chamber, which can contain a dielectric fluid. The actuator can include a first conductor and a second conductor operatively positioned on opposite portions of the bladder. The actuator can be activated and deactivated by selectively supplying electrical energy to the actuator. When electrical energy is supplied to the actuator, the actuator can have a reduced cross-sectional profile such that the interface is not sealed and movement of the second vehicle structure is not impeded by the seal. When electrical energy is not supplied to the actuator, the actuator can be in a non-activated condition in which the interface is substantially sealed.

Abstract: A system and method for detecting tampering with a seal is provided. A loop seal tamper indicating device includes a seal wire that may be passed through a secured item or container to form a loop with the free ends of the seal wire passing through a seal housing. A plunger body including an adhesive-filled cavity is inserted into the seal housing, such that a piston expresses the adhesive into the space between the seal housing and the plunger body. The adhesive may contain reflective particles and is cured to fix the particles and the adhesive in place. A reference image may be taken to record the unique identifier and reflective signature of the adhesive. Future validation images may be compared to the reference image to determine whether the reflective signature has changed, thus indicating that the seal has been tampered with.

A plurality of ridges extends from the cold side surface. A seal member abuts the plurality of ridges to define a plurality of cooling passages. Each of the plurality of cooling passages includes a first inlet defined at the first position and a second, different inlet defined at the second position. Abstract: An air seal for a gas turbine engine platform comprises a flow path platform, a seal retention ring, a finger seal. The seal retention ring is situated radially adjacent the flow path platform. The finger seal is retained by the seal retention ring between the flow path platform and the seal retention ring. The finger seal comprises a first ply with first keyhole slots, a second ply with second keyhole slots circumferentially offset relative to the first keyhole slots, and a foil layer. The foil layer is disposed between the first and second plies. The finger seal has a series of cooling holes in the outer circumferential segment to cool the outer diameter of the seal. In addition, leakage between the finger seal and the flow path platform cools the inner diameter of the seal.

Abstract: A T shaped screen panel seal strip for use in spanning between screen support rails in a vibrating screen is disclosed, which has a plurality of notches therein in registration with the screen support rails so that the strip can be placed over either new or existing screen support rails (after having been cleaned of any cushioning cap material). The strip can be metallic or a plastic material. The method includes retrofitting existing screens with a new sealing strip by first removing any cushion cap material and then placing the T shaped seal strip over the support rails.
Abstract: A reusable gasket may be configured for use between first and second collapsible containers of a shelter. The gasket may have a body configured to seal at least a portion of a seam defined between the first and second collapsible containers. The gasket may include at least one magnet embedded in the body. A reusable plug configured to be disposed into a cavity defined by a collapsible container may have a body configured to be compressibly secured in the cavity. The body of the plug may be made of compressible foam.
