With Squeezing Rollers Patents (Class 28/183)
  • Patent number: 11331691
Abstract: An apparatus for manufacturing tow prepreg includes: a spreading roller which adjusts an incident angle of supplied fiber; and two or more coating rollers including a first roller and a second roller which rotate while having a gap between the first roller and the second roller, in which the fiber supplied from the spreading roller passes through the gap between the first roller and the second roller to be coated with resin. The incident angle of the fiber supplied for immersing the resin is adjusted to adjust tension applied to the fiber supplied to a coating roller, such that the quantity of the resin of the tow prepreg can be controlled more precisely.

  • Patent number: 6395041
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for sizing a yarn sheet, the yarn sheet is passed over rollers through a wetting unit and a following roller nip that reduces the moisture content to a selected level. The wetted yarn sheet then passes through a sizing unit and over rollers forming a nip to reduce the sizing content to a desired level. The rollers of the wetting unit and the rollers of the sizing unit are in close proximity to minimize the reach of the yarn sheet there between and thereby minimize the heat loss in the yarn sheet. The reach is covered by a cover having a heater that extends over the yarn sheet reach to maintain the yarn sheet at a desired temperature as it enters the sizing unit. The temperature of the wetting agent bath in the wetting unit is 65°-95° C., with the temperature of the wetting agent being approximately 5°-10° C. higher than the temperature of the sizing agent bath.

  • Patent number: 5088441
Abstract: The method of impregnating and the apparatus for impregnating a thin cord with a medicinal solution with the cord to be used in the dental field as an appliance for gingival retraction in conjunction with the teeth of a human being. The cord is immersed in a bath of the medicinal solution, moved from the bath to a squeezing roller assembly so that the medicinal solution evenly permeates the cord, removing excess solution, drying the cord and winding the cord on a wind-up reel prior to being dispensed to the consumer.

  • Patent number: 4944078
Abstract: A size viscosity controller for a slasher, for controlling the viscosity of the size circulated within the sizing vat of the slasher. The viscosity of the size is maintained at a desired viscosity by controlling heat supply units on the basis of the deviation of the measured temperature of the size from a desired temperature so that the size is maintained at the desired temperature and, at the same time, regulating the concentration of the size by supplying wet heat, such as steam or hot water, to the size or heating the size by dry heat, such as heat generated by an electric heater, to regulated the concentration of the size.

  • Patent number: 4922592
Abstract: In a size applicator in which size is circulated between a reservoir tank and an applicator tank from which the size overflows back into the reservoir tank, the squeezing pressure applied to the traveling textile substrate is regulated in response to a sensing of the speed of the substrate. A secondary regulation is applied as a function of sensing of the volume of the size being in comparison with the substrate speed. This sensing of the volume of the size being consumed is accomplished by a hydrostatic sensor in the reservoir tank, the output of which sensing is applied to a microprocessor that compares the signal from the size level sensor with the signal from the tachometer that senses the substrate speed, and upon the comparison exceeding a predetermined tolerance, a further regulation is applied to the piston-cylinder mechanisms that control the squeezing pressure between squeeze rollers and between an emersion roller and the bottom squeeze roller.

  • Patent number: 4793035
Abstract: The amount of textile warp size added to a sheet of threads in a running slasher is controlled by measuring the force applied to a separator bar, by passage of alternate threads on alternate sides of the bar. This force is the result of the dried size, which causes adjacent threads to adhere to each other. The force is compared to a predetermined value corresponding to the desired amount of size to be added to the threads. Based on this comparison, the pressure on the nip rolls is adjusted in order to squeeze more or less of the size solution from the threads. In this way, the amount of size added is maintained substantially equal to the predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 4674437
Abstract: The size applicator includes first and second spaced-apart squeeze rolls supported for rotation on a common horizontal axis and having their lower peripheral surface portions at least partially submerged in size solution contained in an open top pan. A single combination immersion and squeeze roll is positioned between the first and second squeeze rolls and on a common horizontal azis with said first and second squeeze rolls. The lower peripheral surface of the combination immersion and squeeze roll is also at least partially submerged in the size solution and pressure engagement is applied between the combination roll and the first and second squeeze rolls to form a pair of yarn squeezing nips therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4571792
Abstract: The ends of warp yarns in a sheet form are treated at the end of a sizing process in preparation for a subsequent rewinding process. In the sizing process, the warp yarns are threaded through a reed with at least two warp yarns in each reed dent in vertically spaced relation. The at least two warp yarns are threaded through one dent in a reed in the rewinding process. Heretofore, it has been tedious and time-consuming to thread the warp yarns through the reeds since the warp yarns in one reed dent cannot be distinguished from those in other reed dents in the sizing process. In the rewinding process, a spacer such as a rod is inserted between vertically divided sheets of the warp yarns to prevent snarling. Since the warp yarns cannot be distinguished from reed dent to reed dent, it has been difficult to insert the spacer.

  • Patent number: 4344211
Abstract: Apparatus and method for high pressure sizing, including sizing squeeze apparatus which effectively utilizes high pressure squeeze loading to remove excess sizing from the warp yarns, and thus to reduce the water evaporation requirement of the yarn. The high pressure sizing squeeze apparatus includes positive drive of the rubber-surface roll as well as the steel roll to prevent slippage which could strain the warp, and maintains a substantially invariant squeeze loading irrespective of variable tension in the roll drive. The surface speed of the rubber-covered squeeze roll may be slightly less than the surface speed of the steel roll, to reduce the torque required to drive the rubber-covered roll at relatively high squeeze pressures where substantial slippage is encountered. A torque limiter controls maximum axial drive torque supplied to the rubber-surface roll, in response to the magnitude of squeeze loading.
