Abstract: A support jack, in particular for supporting semitrailers, includes a vertically telescopically displaceable supporting element having an outer sleeve, and an inner sleeve that can be vertically displaced in a telescopic fashion, each sleeve having a rectangular cross-section with four sidewalls. At least the inner sleeve has a wall plate joined to two adjacent side walls with welding seams that improve the bending stiffness of the support jack. The welding seams can be located inside or outside either of the sleeves. Such a support jack can be located on the lower side of any vehicle.

Abstract: A jack assembly for adjusting the height of a trailer is provided. The jack assembly is moveable between an operable and a stowed position. The assembly includes a tube having a slot portion and a slide block moveable within the slot portion. A post connected to the slide block protrudes through an opening in the slot portion to engage a clamping mechanism. The clamping mechanism is movable between a clamped position where the slide block is clamped to the tube to prevent the jack from moving, and an unclamped position where the slide block is movable within the slot portion to allow the jack assembly to be moved between an operable position and a stowed position.

  • Patent number: 8167330
Abstract: The invention provides space saving, locking and support features for most single pole trailer tongue, having: a support leg, which has the coupler hitch on the opposite end, pivots on the tongue into a vertical position where it acts as a support for the tongue. This leg is secured vertically, using aligned brackets on both sections, by a hitch pin or locking device, so that it can be locked in place as a deterrent to theft. When in the horizontal position, the support leg is secured to the tongue by a hitch pin and may be connected to a towing vehicle. A flip-down leg, pivotally mounted on the tongue, which drops down when the securing hitch pin is removed part way, to provide temporary support for the tongue while the support leg is being moved to the vertical position.

  • Patent number: 8162290
Abstract: The hitch mounted jack adapter device provides for removable insertion into an existing receiver hitch. The device receives the jack I-beam of an existing hi-lift jack. The smooth use of the device is provided by the spaced apart first rollers and second rollers that guide the existing jack I-beam through the I-shaped jack notch of the device. The vertically spaced apart first rollers and second rollers further provide defined vertical guidance of the jack I-beam. By negating binding and significantly reducing friction, combined with the gusset disposed between the hitch insert and the riser of the jack receiver, the device further provides for safe operation through strength coupled with frictional reduction. Of importance is that the device provides for easy, uncomplicated use.

  • Patent number: 7980582
Abstract: A front tow extended saddle is disclosed. The saddle allows a first towing truck to mount a second truck, facing forward, behind the first truck, in order to tow the second truck to a distant location. The saddle allows the towed truck to face forward during transport, thus allowing for the normal loads and stresses of movement on the towed truck. This configuration is preferable to movement with the towed truck facing-rearward, in which the typical aerodynamic surfaces of a large truck act as a drag during transport, imposing high wind loads and unusual stresses. The front tow extended saddle is also designed to minimize the required vertical rise on the towed truck, which also avoids additional stresses during loading and unloading onto the towing truck.
