Abstract: This application is directed to an apparatus for providing electrical charge to a vehicle. The apparatus comprises a driven mass, a generator, a charger, a hardware controller, and a communication circuit. The driven mass rotates in response to a kinetic energy of the vehicle and is coupled to a shaft such that rotation of the driven mass causes the shaft to rotate. The driven mass exists in one of (1) an extended position and (2) a retracted position. The generator generates an electrical output based on a mechanical input coupled to the shaft such that rotation of the shaft causes the mechanical input to rotate. The charger is electrically coupled to the generator and: receives the electrical output, generates a charge output based on the electrical output, and conveys the charge output to the vehicle. The controller controls whether the driven mass is in the extended position or the retracted position in response to a signal received from the communication circuit.
Abstract: A sulky force equalizer comprised of two actuators, connected together, and each actuator is connected to a sulky shaft. The two actuators work together in a pressurized feedback loop that captures and uses errant sulky-and-horse forces to counterbalance any imbalance of pulling forces from the horse; reduces the effort required by a horse to control, stabilize and pull the sulky; and correct any imbalance of the sulky shaft positions. The sulky force equalizer also operates in force analysis mode to test forces in the actuators.

Abstract: A lightweight, low profile trailer especially suited for transporting bicycles. The trailer includes pivotally interconnected upper load supporting and lower suspension frames which have load supporting, suspension, storage, and parking functions. Bicycle supports and clamps are mounted for and aft on the load supporting frame. The suspension frame is located under the load supporting frame in the earth-traversing mode of the trailer and is pivoted for upward and downward movement. Trailer wheels are mounted on opposite sides of the lower frame for movement between ground-engaging positions disposed outwardly of the sides of the upper frame and stowing positions folded under the lower frame. A shock absorber is interposed the upper and lower frames intermediate the wheels for resiliently cushioning the upper frame and thus bicycles thereon during earth traversal of the trailer.
Abstract: A sulky comprises two wheels (7) which are attached via frame members (3) to the sulky's support structure, which consists of a beam section (1) which connects the wheels (7), a seat section (2) and shafts (4). This arm member (6) is rotatably connected to the frame member (3). From the shaft (4) to the beam section (1) there is maintained a connection (9) for transfer of tensile force.
Abstract: An improved horse drawn sulky for harness racing, which is inexpensive to manufacture, and which compensates for the lateral forces caused by banking of the track and turning. The frame of the sulky is formed so that the wheel on the outside of the track is forwardly offset relative to the wheel on the inside of the track. In addition, the frame affords each wheel a camber which more nearly aligns the wheels with the surface of the track. The simple offset design improves traction on a banked track and improves tracking in turns.
Abstract: A trailer hitch and cart suspension system are combined to provide a stable bicycle towing apparatus. The cart is in cantilevered engagement to a yoke attached to two pairs of tension rods extending rearwardly from each side of the yoke. Each pair of tension rods engage opposite exterior and interior sides of a wheel axle and each side of the cart is located over an interior tension rod. An upwardly curved tow bar connects to a rod having a swivel connector at a point distal from the tow bar. The swivel connector mounts over a pin projecting upwardly from bicycle frame members over a rear wheel of the bicycle.

Abstract: A beam axle is passed through 2 separated plates, one pair at each end. A stub axle also passes through the 2 plates at each end and is offset from the beam axle. The innovation is the location of a leaf spring between the plate and between the stub and beam axles. The spring is preferably jammed in position by opposing wedges. The springs are closer to the wheels than is possible in prior art constructions.
