  • Patent number: 8752849
Abstract: A damping system that incorporates a base plate and a hanger with an axle for receiving at least one wheel and a damping element coupling a skateboard deck or the base plate to the hanger and operable to retain the hanger in a normal alignment by introducing a resistance to the motion of the deck or base plate toward or away from the hanger for delaying, reducing, or preventing a speed wobble condition commonly encountered in skateboarding when traveling at a high rate of speed.

  • Patent number: 8746715
Abstract: A folding skateboard may include a first board piece, a second board piece and a third board piece. The first board piece and third board piece may be secured to the second board piece with first and second sets of hinges. The board pieces may include an outer rail disposed on the outer edges of the board pieces that can slide along the outer edges of the board pieces in an unfolded configuration. The outer rails may lock in place to allow the folding skateboard to remain in a rigid unfolded configuration or allow the board to be folded into a three-layered configuration for storage. The trucks of the folding skateboard may be easily secured to and removed from the first and third board pieces.

  • Patent number: 8746716
Abstract: Skateboards methods of riding and steering a foldable skateboard with two large front wheels pivotally attached to the skateboard and a single large rear centered wheel with depressible brake. The skateboard allows for the rider with one foot on the skateboard to propel the skateboard by pushing off the ground with another foot. A stabilizer with angled bolt/pin/rod that inserts into an oblong eyelet opening with pliable bushing on the front axle can allow the rider to tilt the board with their weight to turn to the left or to the right. A folding mechanism having brackets with parallel plates and an end hingedly attached to outer ends of a front frame rear frame members. Opposite end of the brackets can have holes that align with holes in the front frame member where a removable pin locks the front and rear frame members in an unfolded position.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure generally relate to a novel ‘double kingpin’ type skateboard truck having multiple elastomeric bushings, where one or more of such bushings is an elongated bushing having two staggered mounting holes incorporated herein for the purpose of mounting the bushing upon two bolts in the double kingpin truck mechanism. The novel placement and novel form of the said bushing provides both enhanced overall stability to the truck, as well as a wider range of tension adjustability features to the double kingpin truck system. Moreover, increased shock absorption capabilities, ‘wheel wobble’ resistance and overall truck mechanism balance, permit the ‘double kingpin’ type truck to be more useable for higher speed skateboard riding purposes.

  • Patent number: 8720917
Abstract: A spring-loaded skateboard accessory is configured to assist a rider in the performance of an ollie maneuver. The accessory includes a mounting plate for attaching the accessory to a skateboard truck, a rotatable kick plate assembly and a spring component coupled between the mounting plate and the rotatable kick plate. The spring component compresses as the kick plate assembly contacts the ground during the beginning of an ollie maneuver. As the rider forces the board off the ground, the tension in the spring is released and provides energy to provide increased lift (“air”) to a skateboard maneuver.

  • Patent number: 8720916
Abstract: A skateboard truck assembly with an integrated combination of a system of gears that resemble planetary gears that allow both wheels and a caster to remain on the ground while the skateboard is traveling in a lengthwise manner. At the same time, when the rider leans to one side or the other of the skateboard, the gear assembly causes the “downhill” wheel to rise in the air and the caster to be displaced such that the skateboarder can laterally “slide” or “drift” the skateboard as though it was a snowboard. Because the downhill wheel is raised well above the ground, there is less of a tendency for the downhill wheel to catch on any street irregularities or rocks and stop sliding at inopportune times.

  • Patent number: 8708354
Abstract: This skateboard invention has novel swiveling caster wheels mounted on a cross carriage (axle) holding spaced apart swivel caster wheels in place on the undersurface of the board by fixed in place fastening brackets. Dual front and dual rear caster wheels—two in front and two in the rear—as well as a three caster wheeled skateboard is disclosed. Inwardly directed axle stubs (angled toward the center of the board, front and back) are employed with said stubs holding long front and long rear caster arms with wheel hubs supported by the long caster arms. A centering movement for the cross axles—whether front and/or rear—and each caster wheel is disclosed such that the cross axle and/or wheel returns itself to an initial straight line position.
