Abstract: A sheet of opaque plastic the shape and dimensions of a book page, with an arrow cutout shaped in the sheet extending beyond the page on the right edge as viewed when a book is opened, to indicate as to whether it is the upper or lower part of either page where the user's reading was interrupted. Also, a self-adhesive movable arrow label positioned on the right or left edge of the opaque plastic sheet to indicate the exact line on either page where reading was interrupted. This enables a reader to locate the exact line where reading was interrupted without looking over approximately eighty lines on two pages by glancing at both arrows. In addition, by viewing only five lines through an elongated rectangular cutout, eye strain is reduced.

Abstract: An integral page and tab for magazines, trade journals, catalogs, books and other publications, in which one or more pages include an outline of a pretab configuration which can be partially severed from the page and folded to form a tab projecting beyond the edge of the page, and which can be unfolded to permit the printed matter on the page to be read in the normal manner, without interference from the pretab configuration or from the tabs formed from the page. The tab formed on the pages may be located along the side or top or bottom edges, or at the corner or corners of the pages.

Abstract: A combination elastic bookmark and holder for writing instruments is provided which functions to mark a location in a book and also releasably to secure a pen, pencil or other writing instrument or plurality thereof in a receiving holding means constituting a portion of the bookmark which may be preferably positioned on the exterior side of the book when in use. The portion of the combination bookmark and writing instrument holder which encircles the book is made of an elastic material so that it is adapted to hold securely a portion of the book in a separated position from the remainder of the portion of the book. The portion of the combination bookmark and writing instrument holder which is adapted to receive and hold the writing instrument may likewise be made of an elastic material and consists of two portions, each of which is adapted to receive and releasably hold the writing instrument at spaced positions along its length adjacent to the portion of the device which is used to separate the book pages.

Abstract: The object of the invention is to provide a bookmark (1) to underline and indicate a line or passage on a page selected by the reader, to maintain the bookmark (1) where disposed and to cam-open the closed book (3) at such page -- all without any damage at any time to the book (3) or any of its pages from the bookmark (1) and its described utilization.Said bookmark (1) has a flat body (5 ) with horizontal edges (19) for such underlining and indicating function, a depending leg (13), angled 45 degrees relative to such body (5), with teeth (17), symmetrically arranged and disposed relative to such leg (13), that are angled inwardly and upwardly to maintain the bookmark (1) where disposed and inserted in the closed book (3) by means of such teeth (17) engaging the edge (21) of the book's pages and a tongue-like tab (7), defined by a surrounding slot (9), whose free end (15), angled 30 degrees relative to such tab (7), can be manipulated by slight twisting to cam-open the closed book (3).

Abstract: A body having an elongated member adapted to fit along the center line of an open book, provided with means fixed at one end for removably fastening the body to the spine of said book. Auxiliary members received by the body for movement along its length in association with the printed matter in said book.
