A gasket and a pressure plate is slidably positioned on the sleeve. A securing plate has threaded bolts therein and is slidably positioned on the sleeve to position one end of the bolts to engage the pressure plate. A securing element is positioned in the groove and disposed in the securing plate to prevent the securing plate from sliding off of the sleeve when the bolts are tightened against the pressure plate.

  • Patent number: 7007981
Abstract: In a connecting structure of a pipe of an air conditioning unit and a pipe joint for supporting the pipe, an insertion hole through which the pipe is inserted is formed within the pipe joint. The insertion hole has substantially a L-shaped cross-section and includes a first portion for receiving an end portion of the pipe and a second portion for receiving a flat portion of the pipe. The second portion is elliptical-shaped. In connecting the pipe to the pipe joint, the pipe is pressed into the insertion hole by a pressing punch. As a result, the pipe is bent and shaped along the elliptical shape of the second portion in the pipe joint, thereby forming the flat portion in the bend of the pipe. At the same time that the flat portion is formed, the pipe is clamped in the pipe joint.

  • Patent number: 6969094
Abstract: A tube coupling for the detachable coupling of tube line sections of a high-pressure tubing system. The tube coupling includes two coupling blocks held together by a clamping screw, whereby one of the coupling blocks has a coupling plug that engages a plug socket provided on the other coupling block. A sealing ring is formed of a plastically deformable material and is enclosed between a front face of the coupling plug and a bottom-side sealing surface of the plug socket. In order to protect the sealing ring from being lost, damages and/or contaminated during assembly or opening and dosing the coupling, in a preassembled condition it is enclosed within a protective socket. To homogeneously load the sealing ring, the sealing ring is located at one point of a supporting triangle, the two other supporting points of being formed by a pair of supporting surfaces arranged side by side at an outer end of side flanges of the coupling blocks.

  • Patent number: 6893052
Abstract: A connecting arrangement for coolant lines includes a first coupling piece, connected seal-tight to a first line endpiece, and a second coupling piece, connected seal-tight to a second line endpiece. The coupling pieces each have radially extending sealing surfaces on the side facing toward the other coupling piece. A sealing ring is mounted between the sealing surfaces. The coupling pieces are joined to each other via a screw arranged laterally offset from the sealing surfaces so the line endpieces connect to each other via respective bores in the coupling pieces. A form body between the coupling pieces arranged at a spacing from the screw on the side facing away from the sealing surfaces is configured so a lever action occurs when the coupling pieces are joined to each other leading to a uniform pressing together of the sealing ring between the sealing surfaces of the coupling pieces.

  • Patent number: 6851446
Abstract: Adaptor assemblies are detailed. Preferably for connecting automatic pool cleaning apparatus to return lines of swimming pool water-circulation systems, the assemblies utilize spurs that may affirmatively grip, or cut or gouge into, the return lines to retain the adaptors in position. Releasing the adaptors may occur with use of a release line which retracts the spurs when activated. Avoiding release of the spurs through rotation of the assemblies allows rotation for other purposes as, for example, to connect the device to a hose or other apparatus. A bellows or other assembly additionally may be included with the assemblies to facilitate their sealing against walls or other surfaces in which the return lines are embedded.
