  • Patent number: 11667436
Abstract: The present invention relates to a closed-head drum (10) with inserted thin-walled inliner (22) of multilayer plastic film for storing and transporting liquid or free-flowing filling materials. In order to improve the use of liners in closed-head drums, and to facilitate in particular the handling for the users such as the filling and emptying operators, so as to allow the closed-head drum (10) with liner (22) to be handled in precisely the same way as a closed-head drum without a liner, the present invention provides for the liner surface to adhere, or be adhesively bonded in a detachable manner, to the inner wall of the drum by virtue of a vacuum being created in the intermediate air space between the inner wall of the drum and liner surface and by thermal activation by means of hot air injection into the interior of the inliner.

The outer perimeter of at least one of the circumferential ribs conforms to fit inside the hole when the collar is installed into the hole.

Abstract: A two piece plastic nozzle and overlying screw cap closure assembly in combination with a plastic pail cover wherein the nozzle has a cylindrical body portion which is inserted into a cover opening to form a friction fit therewith. The overlying screw cap is then rigidly supported as a sonic welding horn is brought into axial engagement with the protruding nozzle body portion. Energization of the sonic welding horn causes the nozzle body portion to soften and deform radially outwardly into a circumferentially enlarged rivet connection. Continued axial displacement of the sonic welding horn creates a plastic bond about the periphery of the rivet connection so as to close off any leakage path therearound. At the same time any radial dispersion of plastic material resulting from the bonding process is locally contained about the rivet connection periphery.

Abstract: A feedthrough sleeve and integral support fitting comprises a hollow tubular sleeve and integral planar mounting collar. The sleeve lies in a plane transverse to the plane of the collar which is less than perpendicular thereto. The collar is configured to be engaged in a snap fit manner within an opening in a surface, such as a bulkhead of a truck, with the sleeve being mounted in a manner to allow an elongated member, such as a hose, wire or tubing, to be fed therethrough from one side of the bulkhead to the other, without requiring the need for splicing of or creating a joint in the elongated member to provide feedthrough thereof.

A sub housing for the door lock device has a similarly configured outer perimeter coupled to the perimeter of the housing. An O-ring is inserted in a groove in the housing perimeter for sealing the perimeters of the housing and sub-housing. The O-ring has a plurality of spaced gripping portions that have a width greater than the width of the groove before insertion therein for keeping the O-ring from springing out of the groove during assembly.
