  • Patent number: 11389913
Abstract: A mechanical seal clamping assembly includes a base, a fulcrum, a lever, and a cap. The base supports a mechanical seal. The lever is pivotally coupled to the fulcrum at a first pivot spaced from the base. The cap is coupled to the lever and is movable by the lever with respect to the base. The cap is movable from a first position to a second position. In the first position, the cap is at a first distance away from the base. In the second position, the cap is at a second distance away from the base larger than the first distance. The lever moves the cap from the second position toward the first position to engage the mechanical seal to clamp, between the cap and the base, the mechanical seal to maintain a spring of the mechanical seal compressed during assembly or disassembly of the mechanical seal.

  • Patent number: 10596689
Abstract: An engine servicing system includes a motorcycle that has an engine. The engine has a cylinder head, an intake valve and an exhaust valve. A mount is provided and the mount is selectively coupled to the cylinder head. A plurality of bolts is provided and each of the bolts extends through the mount and engages the cylinder head at predetermined points on the cylinder head to retain the mount on the cylinder head. A compression unit is provided and the compression unit is removably coupled to the mount. The compression unit engages each of the intake valve and the exhaust valve such that the compression unit selectively compresses each of the intake valve and the exhaust valve. In this way each of the intake valve and the exhaust valve may be serviced while the engine is mounted in the motorcycle and without removing the cylinder head from the engine.

  • Patent number: 5083351
Abstract: By means of a bracket located above the turntable the twisting of the textile article threaded through this bracket can be scanned and measured by a feeler means. Upon the twisting the bracket will rotate by a certain angle. If a preset angle of rotation is exceeded, the feeler sends a control signal to the control apparatus. This control apparatus controls the relationship circumferential speed feeding cylinders to rotational speed turntable. By means of such controlling an extremely fine regulating can be made, which may be necessary, for instance, due to the slip between the tubular textile article and the feeding cylinders. The upper edge of the textile article being cut is scanned by means of at least one scanner. The location of the scanning is preferably between the final feeding cylinder (seen in direction of movement of the textile article) and the cutting tools of the cutting apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4907323
Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for producing a woven biased fabric in which the structural fibers are skewed from the fabric centerline. The method and apparatus are particularly designed for producing a woven biased structural fabric in which the structural fibers are oriented about 45.degree. to the fabric centerline, where the flimsy, open-knit nature of the fabric makes handling extremely difficult. Broadly speaking, the apparatus includes a fabric feeding station, slitting station, and winding station. The feeding station holds a roll of conventional structural fabric (parallel and perpendicular structural fibers) woven in a tube configuration and flattened into the roll form. The feeding station rotates the roll in a vertical plane as the fabric unwinds in a horizontal direction. The slitting station includes a cutter and a pair of slatter rolls, the rolls moving the tube of fabric in the horizontal direction while rotating the tube of fabric.

  • Patent number: 4267627
Abstract: An attachment that enables use of a common valve spring tool for selectively depressing valve return springs found within deep axial recesses within an engine cylinder head. The attachment includes a yoke that is pivoted to a bracket which, in turn, can be selectively mounted to the spring tool. Pins on the yoke define a first pivot axis. An elongated spring depressing member is pivoted to the yoke on a second axis perpendicular to the first axis. The depressing member includes an elongated leg that extends from the yoke to a ring at a bottom end thereof. The ring is circular and centered on the second axis with the leg being spaced to one side thereof. The ring engages a valve spring and forces it down to expose the valve stem and spring keepers thereon. The leg, being spaced to one side of the second axis, allows free access to the exposed parts of the valve assembly.

  • Patent number: 4131979
Abstract: Automated machine for the continuous bias cutting of an elongated tube of material, such as tubular knitted fabric, into a plurality of individual strips, and winding the strips into a plurality of rolls. The tubular material is advanced axially at a uniform rate from a supply to a cutting and rolling section by a plurality of skewable rotatable cylinders acting as a positive feeding means. As the tubular material is withdrawn from the supply, it passes over a spreader which opens and tensions it. The skewed cylinders cause the tube to rotate about its axis as it advances. Control means are utilized to adjust automatically the skew angles of the cylinders, to increase or decrease the rate of advance of the tube, to compensate for variations inherent in the material which affect its rate of feed. Control means also are utilized to adjust automatically the tension exerted by the spreader, to correlate such tension with the rate of advance as determined by the skew angles of the cylinders.
