Abstract: Disclosed is a tool for both removing and tightening screw-on drains that is simple and easy to use, has a simple design and is easy to manufacture. The tool is capable of engaging an inner surface of a drain flange in a manner that is sufficient to transfer enough force to remove screw-on drain flanges and is capable of use with various designs and sizes of screw-on drain flanges. Different size cams and different lever arms used on the cams allow the tool to optimize the radial force to torque ratio for both removal and insertion of screw-on drain flanges. In addition, nubs are used at the bottom of the drain flange to engage arms that typically are used on drain flanges to further add to the resistance that can be provided between the tool and the drain flange and distribute forces in a dynamic, instantaneous and automatic fashion to optimize removal of the drain flange.

Abstract: The present invention provides a new and useful device for reversibly locking vehicle lug nuts in a stationary position. One of the unique abilities of the present invention is the capacity to lock the lug nuts at roughly the exact degree of tension from the time the apparatus is installed until the apparatus is intentionally removed. A preferred embodiment of the present invention provides an apparatus for locking vehicle lug nuts in a stationary position so as to prevent premature loosening and dislocation during routine vehicle use. The apparatus can withstand extreme differentials in environmental conditions without compromising the degree of tension of the lug nuts. In the furtherance of this and other objectives, the apparatus is preferably designed with a removable cover that can withstand conditions such as wide temperature variances, various forms of moisture, road dirt and salt, metal fatigue and rust, and high heat transference from brakes.

Abstract: A method, product cracker, and nest are used with a derelict product having a shell covering a core. The shell has opposed front and rear faces and a sidewall having at least one pair of diagonally opposed corner-edges extending transversely between the faces, and is separable along the sidewall into a pair of covers. In the method, the front and rear faces of the product are placed in alignment with a first axis and the pair of diagonally opposed corner-edges are placed in alignment with a second axis perpendicular to the first axis. The shell is directly supported near one corner-edge of the pair of diagonally opposed corner-edges and is impacted at the other corner-edge with sufficient force to separate the covers. The alignments are maintained during the impacting. The covers and core are collected and the core is sorted out.

Abstract: A clamp for quickly, effectively and safely removing a cathode collar from an HDP deposition chamber for routine maintenance, cleaning or replacement of the collar. The clamp includes a pair of clamp plates which are capable of pivoting movement on respective ends of a connecting rod. A clamp shoe for gripping a corresponding edge of the annular collar is provided on the bottom end of each clamp plate, and a turnbuckle is fitted with a pair of threaded shafts which engage the upper end portions of the respective clamp plates. By rotating the turnbuckle, the threaded shafts are advanced away from each other against the clamp plates, which pivot on the connecting rod and cause the clamp shoes to tightly engage respective edges of the collar. The clamp is grasped to lift the collar from the chamber and replace the collar in the chamber after cleaning or maintenance.

Abstract: An improved puller apparatus for pulling various articles, including automotive pitman arms, includes a puller frame having a base and at least one upstanding arm extending therefrom, the arms having inwardly extending gripping projections for transmitting pulling force to the article being pulled, the base having an aperture extending therethrough for receiving pushing means, which pushing means include an actuation means disposed at a portion of the pushing means proximal to the article being pulled, such that a user may engage the actuation means at a position within the puller frame to axially move the pushing rod against a relatively stationary interiorly disposed object around which the article to be removed is mounted. The pushing force applied against the interiorly disposed object creates a corresponding reaction force in a direction opposite the pushing force, which reaction force is transmitted to the article being removed via the gripping projections on the puller frame.

Abstract: A hand-held tool for opening snap fasteners comprising a wedge-shaped unsnapping element that is compatible with snap fasteners of various sizes. The unsnapping element includes two notched plates each attached at an angle to an arm having a grip at the end opposite the notched plate. The two arms are attached together by a hinge, and a spring located near the hinge provides sufficient force to keep the two notched plates together when the device is in the closed position. The user of the device simply places the unsnapping element between the head and base of a closed snap fastener and squeezes the grips together. The two notched plates separate and the closed snap fastener is opened.

  • Patent number: 6656320
Abstract: A resin body is moulded around a die located on the front surface of a lead frame, and subsequently masking tape adhered to the rear surface of the lead frame is peeled away. While the tape is peeled away, the front surface of the lead frame is clamped by a surface which contains, or which can be deformed to contain, a recess for receiving the resin body. The peeling is performed by firstly separating an edge portion of the tape from the lead frame by a diagonal motion; and subsequently moving the edge portion across the lead frame so as to peel back the tape until its adhered surface faces away from the lead frame. A retrieval plate is urged against the adhered surface, so that the adhered surface becomes adhered to the retrieval plate. This process is repeated for successive lead frames, so that a stack of masking tape sections is formed on the retrieval plate.

Abstract: The present invention is to provide an auxiliary tool for dismantling a guide ring, and an application method of the same. The auxiliary tool of the present invention for dismantling a guide ring is to install a plurality of supporting elements on the top of a guide ring whose structure is the same as that of the guide ring to be dismantled, thereby dismantling the guide ring closely engaged with a top ring module, wherein the top ring module is used in a chemical-mechanical polishing (CMP) machine for carrying a wafer, and the guide ring to be dismantled is for holding the wafer within the top ring module. The application method of the auxiliary tool for dismantling a guide ring is first to insert the supporting elements of the auxiliary tool of the present invention into the grooves of the top ring modules, and thereafter to tap a combined surface of the guide ring and top ring module in a way like plotting a circle, so as to disengage the guide ring from the top ring module.

Abstract: A method for separating an encoder shaft of an angle encoder from a drive shaft, which are axially aligned with each other along an axial direction and are self-lockingly braced on each other by a press fit along the axial direction and a central fastening screw, which connects the encoder shaft and the drive shaft in the axial direction. A head of the fastening screw rests against an end of a bore of the encoder shaft, which receives a shank of the fastening screw, and a thread of the fastening screw is screwed into an internal screw thread of the drive shaft for bracing the encoder shaft and the drive shaft. The method includes partially turning the fastening screw out of the internal screw thread of the drive shaft and canceling the press fit by generating an axially oriented force acting between the head of the fastening screw and an end of the encoder shaft opposite the press fit.
