  • Patent number: 3946482
Abstract: A wheel speed sensor including a rotor and a stator with the stator being coaxially disposed within an elastomeric member for incremental axial movement upon engagement with the rotor. The stator includes a pole member, a bobbin and coil assembly, and a magnet which are axially aligned to provide an elongated stator structure which is coaxially disposed in a tubular member which guides the incremental axial movement of the stator. A method for prestressing the elastomeric member for setting the required applied force for axially moving the stator.

  • Patent number: 3945874
Abstract: A method of facilitating assembly of hubs, particularly hubs intended for boat engines and being of the kind comprising an outer sleeve, e.g. a propeller sleeve, a hub sleeve mounted coaxially in said outer sleeve, and a rubber bushing between the inner and outer sleeves. In accordance with the invention, the bushing is mounted on the hub sleeve in a non-vulcanized condition, whereafter the sleeve and rubber bushing unit is positioned in the outer sleeve, whereafter vulcanization is carried out. In addition to facilitating correct positioning of bushing and hub sleeve in the outer sleeve the invention provides the advantages of making specialty tools superfluous for mounting of the hub, making possible to reduce the thickness of the outer sleeve as heavy stresses are no longer exerted on said sleeve during mounting, and making storage easier.

  • Patent number: 3936919
Abstract: A plural range pressure regulator construction having a housing provided with an inlet and an outlet separated by a valve seat that is controlled by a valve member that is interconnected to a flexible wall carried by the housing. Biasing means are carried by the housing for acting on one side of the wall to tend to move the wall in one direction relative to the housing, the biasing means comprising a plurality of separate spring means each acting on the wall to provide one pressure range for the pressure regulator construction. The housing has a storage space for storing one of the spring means so that the same will not act on the wall whereby the remaining spring means acting on the wall will provide another pressure range for the pressure regulator construction.
