  • Publication number: 20120326463
Abstract: An apparatus and method is provided for truck bodies to minimize the debris buildup that often occurs on and in truck bodies. Hydrophobic and oleophobic materials are used to coat and protect truck bodies so as to facilitate the release of debris that otherwise might stick to a truck body. If left unchecked, such debris has the net effect of reducing the allowable payload that a truck can effectively carry. Additionally if truck body debris builds up, if not prevented, whenever maintenance work must occur on a truck, for safety reasons any debris buildup on a truck body must be removed prior to any maintenance being performed to preclude any of this debris from falling on maintenance personnel and/or hampering such maintenance.

Abstract: Downhole tools are provided with a topographical pattern, and anti-balling material is provided over the topographical pattern. The topographical pattern may be defined by at least one of a plurality of recesses extending into a surface of a body of the tool and a plurality of protrusions protruding from the surface. Downhole tools include an insert disposed within a recess in a body, and the insert comprises an anti-balling material having a composition selected to reduce accumulation of formation cuttings on the tools when the tools are used to form or service a wellbore. Downhole tools include anti-balling material disposed over a porous mass provided over the surfaces of the tools. Methods of forming downhole tools include providing anti-balling material over features on and/or in a surface of a body of a tool. Methods of repairing downhole tools include removing an insert therefrom and disposing a replacement insert therein.

Abstract: A method of installing an acoustical system that provides a desired sound attenuation includes attaching an acoustical panel having a first density, a first porosity and a first void volume to the substrate. A first finishing layer is prepared with first particles, a first binder, a first rheological modifier and water which are combined, applied to the substrate and dried. The first finishing layer has a first density. When the first sound attenuation changes to a second sound attenuation a second finishing layer is prepared to include second particles, a second binder, a second rheological modifier and water. The dried second finishing layer has a second density. If the second density is less than the first density, the second sound attenuation is greater than the first sound attenuation. If the second density is greater than the first density, the second sound attenuation is less than the first sound attenuation.
