  • Patent number: 7430793
Abstract: An apparatus for securing a trim cover to a foam pad includes a base and a platform coupled thereto that defines a working surface for supporting the foam pad thereon. A plurality of actuators project from the working surface. Each actuator is capable of movement away from and toward the working surface and includes a pair of retaining fingers capable of movement between an open and closed position. In use, the retaining fingers grasp a first connecting member on the trim cover and move the first connecting member toward the working surface as the actuators are moved toward the working surface so as to engage the first connecting member with a second connecting member in the foam pad thereby securing the trim cover to the foam pad.

Abstract: In a method of producing a stamper for roughening a substrate of an optical recording medium, a masking treatment is carried out prior to a blasting treatment, whereby a second pit forming site of a metal plate is protected such that the second pit forming site is not broken in the following blasting treatment. A mask of an adhesive sheet is attached to the second pit forming site in the masking treatment, and then a part of one major surface of the metal plate, exposed between the mask, is roughened in the blasting treatment. An original stamper of the metal plate, having a partly roughened major surface, is obtained by the blasting treatment.

  • Patent number: 7410155
Abstract: A clamp for clamping and sealing a flexible or deformable conduit extending between a supply and a receiving or holding container. The clamp includes upper and lower sections that can be moved from an open to a closed position. In a closed position the clamp engages the flexible tube or conduit and seals the same, thereby preventing fluid from passing past the seal. The clamp includes two half sections, and can be cut and separated such that each half section clamps and seals a portion of the flexible or deformable conduit or tube. In use, the clamp is typically used to clamp and seal a flexible tube, such as a silicon tube extending between a supply and a receiving container of the type employed in handling biopharmaceutical fluids.

  • Patent number: 7178215
Abstract: Aspects of the invention relate to a fixture and a method to assist in the alignment of the inlet end of a transition duct and a combustor component in a turbine engine. The fixture includes a plurality of pressure transducers spaced on a mandrel so as to correspond to the target alignment location of the transition. The plurality of pressure transducers produce signals, which can be converted by a signal processor into an actual alignment location signal. A display can be provided for presenting graphical images of the target alignment location and the actual alignment location responsive to the actual alignment location signal received from the signal processor. Thus, a user can view the movement of the graphical image of the actual alignment location relative to the graphical image of the target alignment location such that the user can adjust the transition's position until the graphical images are substantially aligned.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for assembling motorcycle frames includes a conveyor defining a path of travel and a pallet movable along the conveyor through a workstation. The pallet supports a rotatable frame for receiving individual components and/or sub-assemblies in fixed relationship with respect to one another in a geometry fixture. The angular position of the rotatable frame and supported geometry fixture can be reoriented about an axis of rotation by engagement with a drive motor. The rotatable frame is normally locked in an angular orientation with respect to the pallet until released by engagement with a lock release actuator or key. The pallet is supported on a movable section of the conveyor, which can be guided between raised and lowered positions with respect to the workstation to accurately and repeatably position the support pallet with respect to the workstation for automated processing operations at the workstation.

  • Patent number: RE40191
Abstract: The invention proceeds from a vacuum process apparatus for an article which is processed or treated, resp. at two stations, whereby each station has a charging and/or removing opening for the article. A transporting device is supported for rotation and includes a supporting portion which is successively moved onto the openings of the stations. The process plant is designed in such a manner that the surface normals determined by the surfaces of the openings and the space axis defined by the axis of rotation of the transport device do not run parallel and rather enclose together an angle of 90° or 45°. By such an arrangement it is possible to design extremely compact vacuum vapor deposition apparatuses having a plurality of individual stations, whereby additionally short transporting distances are obtainable and the volumes to be conditioned can be minimized.
