Discrete electronic components are connected by selectively inserting the electrodes of the to-be-connected electronic components into the clips of the assembling blocks. A complete circuit is constructed by attaching the above block-component assemblies on the baseboard and connecting them in accordance with the desired circuit diagram.

    Abstract: A punch-down device includes a housing, a driving mechanism, and at least one punch-down member. The housing forms therein hollow channels. The rotation shaft has an end extending outside the housing to form a coupling section. Each of the rotary wheels has a surface forming two tracks and two pegs. The two pegs of one rotary wheel are received in the two tracks of an adjacent one of the rotary wheels. The punch-down member is received in the hollow channels to correspond to the rotary wheels and be driven to move by the rotary wheels. The punch-down member has lower ends forming conductor depression sections. As such, the punch-down device carries out an operation of punching down and depressing conductors, whereby the efficiency of punch-down operation is increased and the operation is easy and reliable positioning is achieved.

The second section of the housing functions as a tool which forcibly inserts the wires into the termination sections of the contacts at an acute angle. A plurality of wires may be connected to the contacts simultaneously at a work site without the necessity of any special tool or fixture. The termination sections of the contacts may be utilized for terminating flat cables as well as insulated round wires.

    Abstract: Apparatus for installing a multi-contact connector on a flat, multi-conductor cable comprises a connector supporting means for supporting the connector in a predetermined position and a cable supporting means in surrounding relationship to the connector supporting means. The cable supporting means has a cable supporting surface on which the cable is clamped, the supporting surface being located such that a cable clamped thereon will be adjacent to and directly above terminals extending from a connector supported on the connector supporting surface. Upon applying a force against the cable supporting means, the cable is moved downwardly relative to the connector and the terminals penetrate the cable and establish electrical contact with the conductors therein.
