  • Patent number: 8105035
Abstract: The invention relates to a wind turbine rotor blade comprising a blade tip and a lightning protection system. The rotor blade includes at least one lightning receptor at the surface of the blade in an external distance (Lex) from the distal end of the blade tip, and a lightning receptor base inside the rotor blade arranged at an first internal distance (Li1) from the distal end of the blade tip. The rotor blade further includes means for changing at least one electric property of the rotor blade at the lightning receptor base, as compared to the electric properties of the ambient air by increasing the electric field supported between the lightning receptor base and the inner surface of the rotor blade. The invention further relates to a method for manufacturing a wind turbine rotor blade.

Abstract: Method and Apparatus for fabricating a spacer frame for use in an insulating glass unit. One of a multiple number of possible spacer frame materials is chosen for the spacer frame. An elongated strip of the material is moved to a notching station where notches are formed at corner locations. The character of the notches is adjusted based on the selection of the metal strip material and more particularly to achieve bending of the material in an repeatable, straightforward manner. Better control over the notching process is also achieved by exhaust flow control of a double acting cylinder. A positioning spacer achieve very accurate side to side positioning of a die and anvil to precisely notch and deform the metal strip. Downstream from the notching station the metal strip is bent into a channel shaped elongated frame member having side walls. Further downstream a leading strip of channel shaped material is severed or separated from succeeding material still passing through the notching and bending station.

Abstract: The apparatus mounts a locking element into a groove in an edge of a panel. An advance device feeds a stream of locking elements to a pressing device which mounts the locking elements into the groove on the edge of the panel. The locking elements are fed from a line of locking elements stored on a reel. A separating device cuts the line of locking elements into individual locking elements. The separating device is positioned either upstream of the advancing device or immediately upstream of the pressing device. When the separating device is immediately upstream of the pressing device, a spring is used to flex the stream during the short stoppage when the separating device separates individual locking elements from the line of locking elements.

Abstract: A tool configuration incorporating a preprocessing step and a method incorporating the tool configuration with its preprocessing step, producing an improved locking system of a floor panel. With the special tool configuration, and the preprocessing step changing the properties of the surface layer, certain surfaces are profiled of the joint edge of the floor panel, resulting in decreased tolerances. Further, equipment having an upper belt or chain guided in a horizontal direction, by an upper guiding device, and configured to press the floor panel vertically towards the lower chain, decreasing the tolerances of the produced floor panel as well.

  • Patent number: 7870672
Abstract: A method of making a stainless steel composite door is accomplished by forming an oversized composite core by gluing a sheet of lightweight plywood to a sheet of brushed metallic laminate formed of a layer of metal and phenolic plastic. The thus formed core is cut to form an undercut step through only a portion of the plywood section, leaving the laminate intact. A pan is then laid down on a flat table with flanges pointing up. One-quarter inch thick spacer pads are placed in each of the four corners of the pan. The oversized metallic laminated core, with an undercut step, is placed on top of the pan and centered. Overhead clamps are tightened to hold the core in place in the pan. The metallic laminated core is routed by a trim router having a rotatable bearing and a cutting bit, with the bearing having a lesser radius than the router bit. The difference in radii between the bearing and the router bit is equal to the thickness of the flanges of the pan.
