Abstract: This ball join includes a ball stud with a spherical ball section and a shaft-shaped shaft section and a holder that rotatably bolds the ball section, and has a machining surface subjected to cutting in a welded portion obtained by welding the ball section and the shaft section, and the machining surface has a curve-shaped first corner section. In addition, a method for manufacturing this ball joint includes a welding step of welding the ball section and the shaft section and a cutting step of forming the machining surface by subjecting the welded portion obtained by welding the ball section and the shaft section to cutting, and the cutting step executes processing including forming the curve-shaped first corner section on the machining surface. Consequently, a ball joint with a large oscillation angle can be obtained.
Abstract: A method to modify the geometry of a connecting rod of an internal combustion engine includes providing a connecting rod having a crankshaft bore at a first end, wherein the first end has a bearing cap and a bottom end portion of the connecting rod, mating the bearing cap with the bottom end portion of the connecting rod to form the crankshaft bore of the connecting rod, machining a width upset portion of the bottom end portion to reduce a width of the bottom end portion of the connecting rod, machining a width upset portion of the bearing cap to reduce a portion of a width of the bearing cap, and reducing the width of the bottom end portion of the connecting rod and the portion of the width of the bearing cap to a width smaller than a cylinder bore of the internal combustion engine.
Abstract: A motor having a lead screw is provided, the motor including a motor body, a lead screw connected to an output axis of the motor body to reciprocally move to a horizontal direction, a ball-shaped joint member connected to a distal end of the lead screw, and a coupling member coupling the lead screw to the ball-shaped joint member, whereby the coupling member is prevented from being disengaged by heat-sealing a surface insertedly coupled by the coupling member of the joint member.
Abstract: A method for the manufacture of hollow metal spheres is provided. The method includes stamping appropriately-shaped hemispherical components and subsequently laser welding of the hemispheres. Metal spheres made by the method of the invention are substantially uniformly symmetrical in their mass distribution, and can provide superior performance in applications, such as golf ball cores and light-weight ball bearings.
