The door latch mechanism includes a latch release lever that is movably arranged between a rest position and a release position. The door latch engagement bracket defines an opening that is aligned with the latch release lever while the latch release lever is in the rest position such that the latch release lever extends through the opening upon movement of the door latch engagement bracket toward the latch mechanism while the latch release lever is in the rest position, and such that the door latch engagement bracket prevents movement of the latch release lever from the rest position to the release position while the latch release lever is extending through the opening in the door latch engagement bracket.

Abstract: The apparatus comprises a gripping-operating unit including a gripping subassembly, a base subassembly for mounting the components of the unit and an operating subassembly. The gripping subassembly includes a gripper, from which, at one of its vertical extremity, a lever, integral with the gripper, extends horizontally. The base subassembly generally includes an elongated body and a positioning-attachment element connected to the latter. The operating subassembly comprises a spring guide block with opposed channels, a helical compression spring, located in one of the channels, and a pushing pin having a tooth like extension. Should the lever act on the pushing pin, the later, via the tooth like extension, operates against the helical compression spring, and simultaneously moves beyond the spring guide bloc. When a lock is used, a subassembly strike-stopper and a lock actuator-stopper deactivator subassembly are included.

Abstract: A lock for a sliding door or window including a latching linkage and an inner manual lever, that allows movement of the latching linkage between a locked and an unlocked position by means of the manual lever and by operation of a inside or outside key barrel, but also allows deadlocking of the latching linkage in its locked position so that operation of the manual lever to unlock the latching linkage is prevented. It is however, desirable that the lock be operable to lock the lock from the inside by a convenient operation of the manual lever when the user is inside the house. It is further desirable that the door is able to be dead-locked by a key from the inside or the outside in a manner that prevents unlocking of the door by the manual handle, since a house owner may find it inconvenient to have to walk around the outside of their house locking the doors.

Abstract: A locking device for flaps or doors that are pivotable in or on a frame or housing. The invention in particular includes a door or flap lock that serves as a protection against collisions of objects and/or persons with moving or rotating machine parts, with the possibility of unlocking said door or flap lock by manual operation. The locking device includes a movable bolt disposed on the pivotable flap or door with said bolt being manually operable via a lever, handle, or knob and interlocking with a receiving opening for the bolt that is disposed on the frame. The bolt includes several engagement elements for interlocking with a housing- or frame-anchored receiving element, with said engagement elements arranged along the direction of the bolt's longitudinal axis, which approximately corresponds to the direction of movement of the bolt on opening or closing the pivotable flap or door.

Abstract: Concepts and technologies described herein provide for a lockable cable-actuated mechanism for latching and releasing aircraft and other stowage bins. According to various aspects, a cable-actuated coupling mechanism includes a handle assembly and a latch assembly. The handle assembly includes an exterior handle connected to a pivoting arm. The latch assembly includes a release mechanism configured to release the latch upon rotation of the release mechanism. A cable connects the pivoting arm of the handle assembly to the release mechanism such that rotation of the exterior handle applies tension to the cable, pulling the release mechanism of the latch assembly. According to other aspects, a locking mechanism may selectively disengage the pivoting arm from the exterior handle to prevent rotation of the pivoting arm when the exterior handle is rotated.
