Lever Patents (Class 292/143)
  • Patent number: 4231597
Abstract: A flush mountable door lock includes a recessed body member, a lock bolt slidably mounted on the body member, and a paddle-shaped operating handle for moving the bolt. The handle is movable between nested and projected positions. A bolt actuator extends from the handle into a receiving formation provided on the bolt for drivingly interconnecting the handle and the bolt to effect retracting and extending movements of the bolt when the handle is moved toward its projected and retracted positions. A torsion coil spring is interposed between the body member and the handle, and serves the several functions of biasing the handle toward its nested position, maintaining play-free engagement between the handle and the body member when the handle is nested, and maintaining a play-free driving connection between the handle and the bolt when the handle is projected.

  • Patent number: 4098101
Abstract: A latch mechanism is mounted on a door or panel hingedly mounted on the frame of a construction vehicle or the like. The latch mechanism comprises a handle pivotally mounted in exposed relationship on an upper side of the door for movement between latched and unlatched positions thereon. A guide block is secured to an underside of the door and a latch member is slidably mounted in the guide block. The latch member is connected to the handle for sliding movements between a latched position underlying a stationary panel of the vehicle and an unlatched position whereby the door may be opened in response to raising of the handle. Detent means are provided between the guide block and the latch member to hold the member in its unlatched position when the door is open. A key lock may be mounted on the door to selectively hold the latch member plate in its latched position.

  • Patent number: 4073518
Abstract: A lock housing is provided for mounting upon or in a door, but which may also be mounted upon or in a door frame. Latch and bolt bars disposed in side-by-side relation are supported from the housing for lengthwise extension and retraction relative thereto. A locking pawl is mounted on a shaft oscillatably supported in the housing and extending transversely of the inner ends of the latch and bolt bars and the pawl is swingable into and out of position behind the inner ends of the bars when the latter are in their extended positions. A first pair of solenoids are selectively operative on 12 volt D.C. and 110 or 12 volt A.C. current to shift the shaft to a position with the pawl in an unlocked position and the third solenoid is operative to shift the shaft to a position with the locking pawl in the locked position.

  • Patent number: 4060267
Abstract: The bolt of a door latch or lock is made laterally adjustable to ensure both proper latching operation upon closing the door and also reasonably firm engagement of the catch with the fixed stop to ensure firm holding without vibratory or rattling movement. The adjustment is accomplished by adjusting the angle of emergence of the bolt with respect to the latch structure, e.g., the bolt case. The adjustment capability allows greater tolerance in the mounting of the latch upon the door.

  • Patent number: 4038846
Abstract: This electronic combination lock is operated by depressing the proper combination of pushbuttons mounted on the faceplate of a circular handle, then rotating the handle to open the bolt. The pushbuttons are held outwardly by radially extending spring wires within the handle that also provide electrical connection, when a pushbutton is depressed, to inclined contacts mounted to the rear of the faceplate. Electrical leads extend through a hollow shaft connected to the handle. The bolt is restrained in the locked position by a magnetically actuated locking pin which projects into a bore in the bolt. The shaft is connected to the bolt by a spring. When the proper pushbuttons are selected, electrical circuitry disclosed herein actuates the magnet, removing the pin and permitting the bolt to be opened by handle rotation. If the wrong combination is depressed, an alarm signal is produced, the magnet is not actuated, and rotation of the handle expands the spring without moving the bolt.
