  • Patent number: 5102139
Abstract: A golfing accessory, preferably a built-in component of a putter, enables a ball to be lifted and re-emplaced while the golfer remains in an upright posture. In the preferred form, the device releases a ball position marker as the ball is being engaged and recovers the marker during re-emplacement of the ball. The apparatus has a handle shaft with a head at the lower end from which a pair of resilient tangs extend. The tangs have a spacing slightly smaller than the diameter of the ball and have convergent ends. The tangs are traveled down along opposite sides of the ball to a position below the center of the ball in order to grip the ball for lifting. A leaf spring initially clamps the marker to the head but is deflected by the ball as it is being engaged by the tangs and thereby releases the marker. A magnet in the head enables retrieval of the marker without bending over.

  • Patent number: 4964665
Abstract: A portable hand-held collector for retrieving irregularly shaped nuts or objects from the ground while the user maintains a substantially erect posture. The body of the collector comprises a pair of tubes of substantially equivalent inner and outer diameter axially coupled by a rigid sleeve. The input tube is axially coupled to a tubular insert comprising an input orifice normally blocked by a plurality of flexible, spaced apart springs. When the collector is pressed down on target nuts, the springs resiliently yield to admit the nuts interiorly of the insert. After the nuts are captured within the input tube, the springs assume their original orientation preventing captured nuts from escaping. The inner diameter of the tabular insert is smaller than the inner diameter of the input tube, so an annular shoulder is formed. Incoming nuts pass the annular shoulder on their way into the input tube.

  • Patent number: 4953906
Abstract: A golf ball retriever which is attachable to the grip end of a standard golf club and which retrieves a lost ball in a partial loop at the retriever's end. The partial loop is formed to define approximately 66% of a full circle. For optimum retrieving effectiveness, the partial loop is oriented relative to the supporting shaft where it may be brought closely parallel with the resting surface of the golf ball. The retriever is formed into a spiral configuration at its club attachment end. To attach the retriever to a golf club, the club grip is guided into the center of the spiral configuration to coincide with its axis and then drawn telescopically as far out as permitted by the spiral until the retriever is firmly seated on the grip.

  • Patent number: 4871029
Abstract: A rake head attachment to be removably attached to a handle, such as the shaft of a golf club, and which is constructed so that it may easily and quickly be coupled to the shaft of the golf club. This is achieved by dropping the shaft between two spaced and parallel pieces mounted on the rake head, by turning the shaft into slots in the two pieces, and then by drawing the shaft through aligned holes at the inner ends of the slots until the hosel is firmly engaged by the pieces. The slots in the pieces are shaped and positioned such that the rake head is firmly held on the shaft of the golf club without any tendency for the rake head to turn or otherwise move with respect to the shaft.
