The glass holder 16 has a bottom part 16a to he placed on the base portion 22a, and a fixing part 16b which projects downwardly from the from the side edge and which contacts with a periphery of the fixing portion of the carrier plate.

The sliding window assembly further comprises an elongated member that couples the rail to the fixed panels. The elongated member partially encapsulates the rail with a portion of the interior surface of the attachment portion free of the elongated member to present an exposed bonding surface. The exposed bonding surface allows the rail to be bonded to the flange of the vehicle for mounting the sliding window assembly to the vehicle.

An appliqué may be disposed over the exterior of the lower frame portion so that the flow of the moisture is hidden in an unencumbered and aesthetically pleasing manner.

The first and second ends of the wire are then pulled with the first and second wire wind-up element until the wire cuts through the adhesive around the entire perimeter of the side window element.
