Abstract: An aircraft seat for an aircraft passenger compartment suite may include a primary section with an upper actuatable portion and a lower actuatable portion. The primary section may be configured to actuate between a primary upright position and a primary lie-flat position. The aircraft seat may include an auxiliary section including an auxiliary seatback portion coupled to a privacy shell element of the aircraft passenger compartment suite and an auxiliary seat base portion configured to actuate between an auxiliary upright position and an auxiliary lie-flat position. The auxiliary seatback portion may include an actuatable element. The actuatable element may be configured to actuate between an open position and a closed position. The actuatable element may be configured to provide access to a stowage compartment when the actuatable element is in the open position.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus, according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a seat back movable between an upright position and a folded position, and a platform coupled to the seat back with a support mechanism such that the platform is movable between a plurality of use positions when the seat back is in the folded position. The support mechanism includes at least one member that is selectively detached from the platform to provide at least one of the plurality of use positions.

Abstract: An apparatus is provided. The apparatus includes a blade configured for extending between adjacent floor panels and having a bottom portion thereof that defines a floor member engaging recess for engaging a bottom side of the floor member and a hook on an end thereof for engaging a vertical side of the floor member. A mount to which the blade is translatable about and engaged with a top surface of the adjacent floor panels when installed on a floor surface is provided. A linear translator is selectively directed to translate the blade relative to the mount such that the distance between a bottom surface of the mount and the floor member engaging recess is varied in order to securely receive the floor member therebetween. A related method is also disclosed.

An individual bench incorporates a mechanism for shifting the weight of the bench between a mobile base, which may be supported by swivel casters, and a stationary base, which may be supported by non-slip feet, actuated by pivoting a bench seat down from a folded storage position to an unfolded seating position. The weight shifting mechanism may include an engagement member, which is initially spaced apart from an actuator at a folded angle of the seat, and which contacts and begins transmitting force and movement to the actuator at a partially unfolded angle of the seat. Preferably, the bench further includes a biasing component that biases the stationary base upward relative to the mobile base.

Abstract: A transfer bench and methods for using same to facilitate movement of a person into and out of an enclosure are disclosed. The transfer bench comprises a first seating section that at least partially lies in a horizontal plane. A second seating section rotatably coupled to the first seating section is configured to rotate between a generally horizontal position and a generally vertical position. Each seating section can be supported by one or more legs. The transfer bench can be positioned in the enclosure. A user sits on the second seating section, moves to the first seating section, and can rotate the second seating section to a vertical position such that the transfer bench is disposed within the enclosure. The enclosure may be a wet/dry environment and can be enclosed by means such as a shower curtain, door, or other enclosure means.

When in a raised position, the rails provide a support for a solid board plank thereby becoming a seat back (e.g., for a chair, love seat, or sofa-type arrangement). When the rails are in a lowered position substantially parallel to the ground, the two box frame assemblies may be oriented back-to-back so as to provide a support for a mattress thereby converting the structure into a bed arrangement, for example. The box frame assemblies can be positioned on different sides and ends thereby allowing formation of tables and/or shelving as may be desired.

Controls mounted in proximity to the operator chair permit control of the revolving floor and the vacuum and air conditioning. Both chairs may be vertically adjustable, as controlled from the operator chair. Additional controls may include a reclining back on the client and/or operator chair. Various utilitarian appendages such as footrests, armrests, tool trays, storage boxes and the like may be provided on the chairs.

The mount segment serves as a hinge to enable the retainer board to be placed in an inoperative rest position and in an operative unfold position.

Abstract: A combination structure of chairs and a table capable of being reassembled as a long chair comprises a first bearing unit; a driving unit pivotally connected to the first bearing unit; and a second bearing unit pivotally connected to the driving unit. As the driving unit is moved, the second bearing unit will be driven toward the first bearing unit; so that the second bearing unit is mounted out of the first bearing unit. Therefore, as the chair is not used, it can be reassembled as a long chair.

Abstract: A furniture unit includes a base, a horizontal panel having front and rear edges, and a vertical panel having upper and lower edges. A support is provided with a center pivot connected to the base, a front pivot connected to a front edge of the horizontal panel, and a rear pivot connected to a lower edge of the vertical panel. The support is movable to a first position where a front surface of the vertical panel is located generally rearwardly of and above the rear edge, and is movable to a second position where the vertical panel is located generally rearwardly of and below the rear edge. The support moves the vertical and horizontal panels with a counterbalanced motion. In one form, the arrangement forms an adjustable sit/stand chair. In another form, the arrangement forms a desk with a height-adjustable worksurface and adjustable-height backboard. Notably, the backboard can be a functional panel, and may include an erasable surface, a grooved surface for supporting accessories, or a tackable surface.

Abstract: A combination bench and table unit includes a pair of frames with a bench fixed thereto, the frames having legs supporting the unit and upwardly extending supports which carry a table/backrest member. The table/backrest member is attached to the supports by a retaining assembly which includes a hinge to thereby permit swinging of the table/backrest member from a first vertical position where it serves as a backrest to a second horizontal position where it serves as a table. The bench and the table/backrest members are identical in configuration and construction and the two frame members are identical whereby to minimize the need for molds to fabricate the unit.

A locking device for retaining the common portion in the table top position has a manually operated end with an outer surface which is flush with the adjacent surface of a support when the device is in locked position to visibly indicate that the assembly is locked in position to serve as a table. When the locking device is unlocked, the outer surface of the manually operated end is spaced from the adjacent surface. The locking device includes wedging members adapted to be wedged between a support fixed to the common portion and the upper end of a frame member. When the locking device is in locked position, resilient arms bias projections thereon into a recess in the upper of the frame member to retain the device in position to serve as a table.

The tray table is mounted to the frame structure of the seat assembly by a multiple axis pivot mount to rotate first to a generally horizontal position in which it extends forward from the seat back. The pivot mount enables the tray table to then rotate about an upright axis to swing the tray table laterally toward an adjacent seat assembly. The pivot mount is located along one side edge of the tray table such that the tray table is cantilever supported to the seat back.

This arrangement provides that the seat (0, 35) will act as a support for the board (2, 36) when the latter is used as an ironing table or a bar table. To this effect, a frame is deployed so that the board (2, 36) passes from the back or vertical position to the horizontal or table position , Additionally, the panel of the seat (0, 35) moves from the horizontal position to the vertical position as a support for the board (2, 36) when the latter is in the table position. In the version of the seat assembly transformable into a table and bar, the latter is incorporated into the seat body. The invention finds application in household furniture, fair stands and commercial shows.

Abstract: Vehicle seats are commonly used to transport passengers travelling on different classes of fare, for which seats of different width are often provided. Seats of different width are also desirable to accommodate passengers of different sizes. Adjustable seating units are known which include backrest and bottom parts for a plurality of seats abreast, fixed armrests at the sides and intermediate armrests which can be moved laterally between two or more predetermined positions to separate and define seats of different widths. To improve the appearance and comfort provided by such adjustable seating units, a shroud is provided to fit on or over two intermediate armrests when they are positioned close together between wider seats, the shroud being anchored to the seating unit, for example being mounted on arms pivotally connected to the seating unit, so as to be movable between an operative position, fitting the intermediate armrests, and a stored position.

Abstract: A locking member for use on a article of furniture, the article of furniture having frame means carrying a fixed seat section and a movable common section, the support member rotatably mounted on the frame and movable from a first non-locked seat back position to a second locked table top position, the support member being maintained in its first non-locked seat back position by gravity, and in its second locked table top position by the locking member. The support member comprises a box-shaped housing member rotatably carried on the frame means, with the locking member loosely contained between the frame member and the housing member for rotational movement with the housing member. The locking member is longitudinally movable from a first non-wedging position to a second wedging position to lock by wedging action the support member in its second or table top position.

Abstract: A convertible picnic table has a table top which retracts pivotally to serve as a bench back. Adjustment of the table top attitude is effected by a slotted bracket having one end pivotally mounted to the table top, and a second end slidably mounted to a palm nut mounted on a horizontal frame member.

Abstract: A folding seat/table arrangement has transverse seat members (10,12) and transverse backrest/table top members (14,16) carried on transversely-spaced folding frames (18). In those frames, backrest supports (34) are pivotable relative to seat member carriers (30) between first and second stable end positions, by virtue of connecting links (38) which connect said supports (34) to rear seat legs (24). In one position (as shown) the backrest transverse members (14,16) are supported as an upright backrest for seated persons. In the other position, the backrest transverse members (14,16) are supported by props (48) from rearwardly-inclined backrest supports (34), in a horizontal table-top posture.

Abstract: A patio table (10) with attached benches (22) which converts into two completely separate benches (22) with attached backs is disclosed. FIGS. 1 and 2 show the convertible patio table (10) in its assembled configuration. Table top (12) comprises two table top halves (14), having top members (16) attached to top rails (18). FIG. 3 shows the table (10) is transition from its assembled position to its fully disassembled position. FIG. 4 shows the table (10) fully disassembled into two separate benches (22). The backs of benches (22) are formed by unfastening latches (20) and pivoting table top halves (14) and table top support members (24) upward and rearward about bolts (26). Benches (22) comprise top bench members 28, bench rails (30), end bench members (32), foot rails (34) and stops (36). FIG. 5 shows a larger convertible patio table (50) which comprises a convertible patio table (10) assembled together with two table halves (42) of a shorter convertible patio table (40).
