Abstract: A multi-functional, space-saving, and economical furniture item, made of wood, that converts shape and function to provide storage, seating, a desk-top workspace, and a countertop-height workspace. The furniture item is a bench that provides seating and has a flap that can be “actioned” (folded down) to provide a table for writing. The bench is integrally formed in a unitary structure that affords multimodal transformation and practicality for ease-of-use and desired functional range. By lifting the bench seat clockwise and lowering the backrest, the furniture item transforms into a countertop or a desktop workspace. Undoing the said steps transforms the countertop back to the bench.

The support member may be configured to rotate about the hinge portion. The hinge portion may be connected to a biasing member. The wagon has a frame having a first end assembly and an opposing second end assembly, a floor assembly and 4 wheels. The wagon also has seat assemblies comprising a first seat, a front support, and a rear support, wherein the front support for the seat is pivotally connected to a second end of the first seat and pivotally connected to the wagon frame, and wherein the rear support for the first seat is pivotally connected adjacent a first end of the first seat and pivotally connected to the end assembly. When in sofa configuration the furnishing contains a row of individual seating units resting in a frame. The frame provides the arms and back of the sofa. To change to dining configuration each seating unit is separated from the frame and raised to a higher seat elevation and shorter seat depth by lifting the seat top up and pulling the seat back forward. The sofa frame becomes a dining table by tilting it forward 90 degrees, rotating the arms 180 degrees, and unfolding the table flap.

When in a front passenger seat that is folded forward, the seat back tray is easily assessable by a vehicle driver. To adjust the tray horizontally, a pivotable tray top pivots relative to and above a non-pivoting tray top. A track within the tray provides a guide for movement of the pivotable tray top. A scissor lift coupled to an adjustment mechanism including either a hand crank or electric motor, may raise and lower the tray from a retracted position to an extended position, and be fixed at any intermediary position. The tray may be equipped to be lifted to any intermediary position without a hand crank or electric motor in a low-cost, yet effective scissor mechanism.

Notably, the backboard can be a functional panel, and may include an erasable surface, a grooved surface for supporting accessories, or a tackable surface.

In one presently preferred embodiment of the present invention, the support frame includes an upper portion movably mounted to a lower portion. In such preferred embodiment, the lower portion includes a first leg, a second leg, and a seat mount, where the seat mount is comprised of an upper surface and a lower surface defining a space therebetween which is capable of receiving one or more seat members to form a seat. Further in such embodiment, the upper portion preferably has a backrest mount which includes a first surface and a second surface that define a space therebetween which is capable of receiving one or more backrest members to form a backrest.

Abstract: A seat back mounted fold down auto office having a bin portion mounted to the seat back of a vehicle seat assembly on the rear side thereof including a recessed storage area therein. A cover is provided for the recessed storage area and is rotatable upon a hinge to move the cover from a closed position to an open position to access the recessed storage area. Additional features include a fold out support panel that can rotate out from the storage bin toward a user after which the storage bin can be closed while the support panel extends from the storage bin. The support panel can be used to attach a notepad or and/or cellular telephone. In addition, the cover can be equipped with a light to illuminate the storage area in the bin.

Abstract: A multi-functional bench seat. The bench seat has a base to which one or more seat sections are attached. Each seat section has a complementary support arm also attached to the base. A back section is attached to each support arm. Both the seat section and support arm are capable of being rotated relative to the base. The back section is capable of being rotated relative to the seat support arm. Consequently, the bench seat may be positioned in a number of different positions to serve as either a seat or a support table.

This arrangement provides that the seat (0, 35) will act as a support for the board (2, 36) when the latter is used as an ironing table or a bar table. To this effect, a frame is deployed so that the board (2, 36) passes from the back or vertical position to the horizontal or table position , Additionally, the panel of the seat (0, 35) moves from the horizontal position to the vertical position as a support for the board (2, 36) when the latter is in the table position. In the version of the seat assembly transformable into a table and bar, the latter is incorporated into the seat body. The invention finds application in household furniture, fair stands and commercial shows.

Abstract: A foldable seat includes a seat member having a pair of generally upwardly opening elongate slots, and a backrest having a pair of hingeblades received with the slots. The hingeblades are pivotally connected to the seat member for rotation about a pivot axis. The hingeblades include bearing surfaces which engage stop surfaces located inside the slots on the seat member to prevent backward rotation of the backrest beyond the normal upright position. The pivot axis, bearing surfaces and stop surfaces are all located below the upper seating surface of the seat member and forward of the rear edge thereof, so that major pinch points are generally inaccessible, whereby the risk of injury on account of inadvertent placement of a finger between the bearing surfaces of the hingeblades and the stop surfaces of the seat member are substantially eliminated.

Abstract: A convertible bench/table container apparatus is disclosed in one presently preferred embodiment of the present invention as including a support container assembly having an internal storage chamber disposed therein for storing children's toys, clothing, blankets, for use as an ice chest, etc. The support container assembly is formed having a base board member and one or more openable seat members which provide means for facilitating access to the internal storage chamber of the support container assembly. Preferably, the seat members are hingeably attached at a first end to the base board member and operably disposed in alignment with the raised rim of the upper portion of the support container assembly to provide structural support when in the seat members are in a closed position.

Abstract: An apparatus combining an overbed table, IV stand, walker, and optionally a wheeled chair is described. The IV stand portion of the apparatus can be raised for administering intravenous liquids or lowered for concealment. The table portion can be detachable so that the stand can be attached to a patient's bed. The apparatus contains a wide wheelbase for stability as a walker, yet furnishes easy maneuverability. The apparatus also contains mechanisms for attaching oxygen bottles, catheterization equipment, infusion pumps, and the like. An embodiment containing a wheeled chair functionality combines the table and wheeled chair functionalities so that one or the other can be selected for use. This multifunctional apparatus reduces the amount of occupied floor space in a patient's room and reduces the need for storage space for IV stands, walkers, wheeled chairs and the like.

Abstract: A convertible table with a separable child-supporting chair releasably located within a recess in the top panel of the table. The chair is arranged to be stowed in a first orientation within the recess in the table in such a manner that the recess in the table's top panel is closed, with a portion of the chair being flush with the top surface of the top panel, thereby providing a smooth table top surface. The chair is slidable out of the recess so that it can be reoriented to a second orientation and then slid back into the recess so that it can support a child thereon adjacent the top panel. A locking mechanism is provided to prevent the chair from accidentally sliding out of the recess when it is in the second orientation. A restraining strap is provided in the chair.

Abstract: Multi-function baby support and transport apparatus including a wheeled, vertically-extensible frame, the uppermost member of which is adapted to carry a baby seat. The frame includes locking means for locking it in several different configurations, in each of which configurations the uppermost member is at a different elevation from a horizontal plane surface which bears the apparatus. A propelling handle is pivotably mounted on the uppermost member and can be positioned in an upright propelling position or in a horizontal position in which it is closely juxtaposed to the uppermost member. A folding diaper changing table is affixed to the propelling handle, and thus can be used for changing diapers when the propelling handle is in a horizontal position.

Seat backs of two outer seating positions may be provided with mechanisms, such as slidable panels, which operate to vary the widths of the seat backs in the business class position. Alternatively, the seat backs are bodily movable on the seat frame and provided with hinge-mounted side bolsters of a compressible foam material which can be opened outwardly to increase the widths of the backs of the two outer seats with those backs moved to the two-seater business class configuration on the seat frame and the middle seating position eliminated.

Abstract: A folding item of furniture of the box-bench type possesses an operating device for a member which is movable in rotation relative to a frame. The movable member comprises a first panel alternately forming the backrest of the bench in the open position and the lid of the box in the closed position, and a second panel, perpendicular to the first, forming a seat part in the open position. A third panel forms the other seat part and is articulated relative to the second. An operating member mounted pivotably on the movable member has an active locking position in which it maintains the movable member in the open position. Three cushions are provided, the first and second cushions being fixed respectively to the first and thirst panels and the third cushion lying on the second cushion so as to be slidable relative thereto. The seat outfitted with cushions can thereby be closed with the cushions stored under the first panel, without the cushions being crushed.
