Abstract: A vehicle seat assembly for a vehicle floor includes a seat back frame pivotally connected with respect to the vehicle floor for movement between a fully reclined position for seating and a horizontal position for forming a load floor. A drive motor is connected to the seat back and operative to adjust the reclined position of the seat back frame with respect to the vehicle floor and operative to pivot the seat back frame between the fully reclined and horizontal positions.
Abstract: A seat assembly for use in an automotive vehicle includes a seat track assembly for securing the seat in the vehicle. A seat cushion is supported by the seat track assembly and a seat back is pivotally secured to the seat track assembly and pivotal between one of a plurality of reclining positions and a forward dumping position. A linear actuator selectively adjusts the seat back between the plurality of reclining positions. A locking member intercoupled between the linear actuator and the seat back operatively locks the seat back in one of the plurality of reclining positions and a seat back releasing member is coupled to the locking member for releasing the locking member from the seat back and allowing the seat back to pivot from the reclining position to the dumping position while the linear actuator retains the previously adjusted reclining position of the seat back. A track locking member selectively locks the seat track assembly and seat in one of a plurality of fore and aft seat adjustment positions.
Abstract: In a storage structure for a head rest designed in such a way that with a seat cushion pulled up and frontward and a head rest detached, a seat back is to be folded frontward and stays of the head rest are to be fitted in the seat cushion, a back of the seat cushion is formed by a resin panel integrally provided with cylindrical portions, which have bottoms and hold the stays of the head rest.
Abstract: A back seat arrangement for passenger compartments, especially of motor vehicles, has a back seat bench which can be folded up into an upright position about a pivot axis arranged in its front region, a backrest, which can be tilted forwards into a flat position about a pivot axis arranged in its lower region, at least one rear belt buckle, which can be fixedly connected to the bodywork of the motor vehicle, and a back seat section arranged in the abutment region between the back seat bench and the backrest which serves for the positioning of the at least one rear belt buckle. The back seat section arranged in the abutment region between the back seat bench and the backrest is an intermediate padded part, extending at least in sections into the width of the seat, secured on the bodywork and separate from the back seat bench and the backrest, which holds the at least one rear belt buckle in the operating position.
Abstract: A seat includes a base having a block extended rearward for forming a pair of notches. The block has two side extensions extended inward of the notches of the base. A plate has an opening formed between two legs for receiving the block and has two pins engaged into the extensions for rotating the plate relative to the base between a vertical position and a folded position. The pins may be engaged into the notches of the base for securing the plate at the vertical position. The legs each has a stop engaged with the extensions for retaining the plate to the base.
Abstract: A folding seat hinge (10) having a first hinge member (16) with an arcuate slot (46) radially displaced from the pivot axis (40) of the hinge. A second hinge member (12) is disposed with respect to one side (54) of the first member (16) to fully cover the slot (46) over the full range of pivoting motion of the hinge members (12, 16). A guide pin (58) is coupled to the second member (12), extends through the arcuate slot (46) in the first member (16) and functions to limit the pivoting motion between the hinge members. A cover plate (70) is disposed with respect to an opposite side (72) of the first hinge member (16) to fully cover the slot (46) over the full range of pivoting motion. A pivot pin (14) secures the hinge members (12, 16) and the cover plate (70) in an assembly and provides the axis of rotation (40) for the hinge members.
Abstract: A vehicle utility seat in which the seat back can be rotated down onto the seat bottom to form a pass through opening into the trunk area of the vehicle. In addition, the seat bottom can be rotated upward to a stowed position immediately in front of the seat back providing increased cargo area in the rear seat area. A flat load floor is provided beneath the seat bottom for placing cargo thereon. The seat bottom and seat back are formed with complementary seating surfaces so that the seat bottom and seat back can nest together and occupy a minimal volume in the vehicle to maximize the cargo carrying capacity of the vehicle. In addition, the seat bottom and seat back are mounted to the vehicle for rotation about a common pivot axis.

Abstract: A seat hinge for a vehicle that is structurally simple, easy to manufacture, and that simplifies mounting on the vehicle. The seat hinge includes a pair of male brackets attached to a seat back, a female bracket that can be affixed to a car body, and a support pin about which the aforementioned pair of male brackets can tilt. Control of the rotation of one of the male brackets around the aforementioned pin is achieved by a bead protruding from the support portion of the male bracket and abutting against an angular member forming an apex of the support portion of the female bracket.
Abstract: A layable seat includes front and rear paired supporting legs which are layably raised on a floor at two positions separated from each other in a back-and-forth direction, a seat member pivotably connected to the front paired legs, paired link levers each of which has one end pivotably connected to the corresponding one pivotal center of the seat member and the other end pivotably connected to the corresponding rear leg. The seat member is elastically held at its half-folded position by torsion coil springs, and has paired engaging pins which project sideward therefrom and engage the lower edges of the link levers to hold the seat member at its horizontal position against a user's weight.
