  • Patent number: 5235719
Abstract: An assembly for converting the one-directional power transmission of a conventional power ratchet wrench into alternating transmission of the power to the wrench's driver head in both the clockwise and counter-clockwise direction without moving the rotational direction selected by the wrench's rotation direction selector subassembly from a first selected position. A scraper attachment attaches to the driver head of the wrench and an engagement arm connects the body of the attachment directly and tightly to the ratcheting section of the wrench. A scraper blade is pivotally connected to the body of the attachment and extends in a generally perpendicular direction from the axis of rotation of the body member. Operation of the wrench results in oscillating arcuate rotation of the scraper blade as it is pressed upon the surface to be scraped.

Abstract: A multi-purpose scraping apparatus is disclosed which enables the interchangeability of scraping blades. The apparatus is made of a handle, a shank and a blade receiving assembly, the shank being interposed between the handle and the blade receiving assembly. The blade receiving assembly comprises a back plate, a spring plate, a spring tongue and means for securing the spring plate to the back plate. The spring tongue extends from the spring plate and provides means for moving the blade receiving assembly from a gripping position to a releasing position. The back plate and the spring plate are thus constructed and arranged to cooperatively engage a blade to be used with the apparatus and to bias the blade receiving assembly in the gripping position. Thus, the spring tongue is moveable to effect movement of the blade receiving assembly from the gripping position to the releasing position.

  • Patent number: 5009131
Abstract: The apparatus has a housing which slidably mounts a blade assembly for reciprocation thereof, fore and aft, perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the housing, for the purpose of cutting shingle nails. The blade assembly slides upon a plate, which terminates in a series of juxtapositioned teeth, which lifts shingles to give the blade assembly access to the nails. A prime mover, an electric motor in the disclosed embodiment, drives the blade assembly in reciprocation through a gear train and cranks confined within the housing. Vibration-induced, free-flow lubrication for the blade assembly is provided by a lubricant reservoir and manifold mounted upon the housing.

  • Patent number: 5007129
Abstract: A very small, smooth, hand-held pocket tool which opens like a pocket knife to expose a cleaning element, such as a short piece of hacksaw blade, which can be used to clean the grooves and faces of golf clubs and can also be used to roughen the grips of such clubs. The essence of the tool is that it is so small that golfers would not hesitate to carry it in their pocket during a round of golf, yet when open the part that shields the cleaning element acts as a handle making the tool quite large enough to be effective. The cleaning element can easily be replaced when dull.

  • Patent number: 4979300
Abstract: A cutting and scraping tool has a molded, one piece body having a first portion to be held by one hand of the user and an integral blade receiving and holding portion. The blade receiving portion has a first wall which is thinner than the first portion and establishes a shoulder at the junction of the two portions. The first wall has an extension at one end which includes a section of approximately the size and shape of the first wall and a flexible connecting web enabling the section to become a second wall when folded against the first wall then to define a blade holding slit the bottom of which is the shoulder and which is dimensioned to accommodate a blade with one edge exposed. One end of the slit is closed by the web and the other ends of the walls are releasably connected to permit blade placement and removal. A blade within the slit is held against movement by bosses on one wall passing through openings in the blade and into sockets in the other wall.
