    Abstract: A method for removing a blind rivet includes a workpiece arrangement having first and second surfaces and a connecting hole. A blind rivet is fixed in the hole and has a shell and screw through the shell extending coaxially along a common center axis, the shell having a shell head portion, straight portion, deformation portion and threaded portion having an internal thread. The straight portion is in the hole and the deformation portion and the threaded portion protrude out of the hole, the screw having a screw head portion and pin portion having an external thread. The screw is in the shell such that the deformation portion of the shell is deformed where the outside diameter of the deformed deformation portion is larger than the diameter of the hole. The shell is cut in the region of the thread portion and/or the deformation portion, and the blind rivet is removed from the hole.

It provides a hand tool which is generally shaped like pincers whose two legs move apart during operation, the optical fibre being fixed to each of the free ends of the legs which stretch it and press it against a rounded forming part fixed to one of the legs while a knife comes up to the forming part to start breaking the fibre by scoring it, all these operations being controlled by operating a single trigger lever. It applies to the forming of connections at the ends of the optical fibres.

    Abstract: A tool for cutting a ring worn on the finger to effect removal of the ring from the finger. The tool includes a tool housing and a tool body movable with respect to the housing. The tool housing carries a first chisel type knife edge which is stationary during a ring cutting procedure. A second chisel type knife edge is movable with the tool body relative to the housing toward the first knife edge. A ring segment is accommodated between the knife edges where it is cut and severed. A shield is disposed between the ring bearing finger and the ring segment to be cut for the protection of the finger and to poise the ring segment preparatory to cutting. Mechanical means are provided for advancement of the knife edges toward one another to cut the ring segment.

    Abstract: A portable device for cutting and removing nuts, has two hydraulic assemblies connected by a high pressure, flexible hydraulic line. At one end of the line is a light hand-powered hydraulic pump, effective at any orientation. Attached to the other end of the line is a compact hydraulically actuated head unit. Recessed into the unit is a curved moveable jaw, opposite which and also recessed is a cutting blade. Enough room is provided between the cutting blade and the jaw for a nut to fit snugly. Pressure from the pump drives the piston towards the cutting blade, and cuts the nut, permitting its easy removal.
