Affixed To Work Patents (Class 30/372)
  • Patent number: 4453438
Abstract: The present invention provides a platform for guiding a circular portable power saw to make rapid, accurate, splinter-free cuts in wood, veneer, plywood, particle board, or other such soft material. The platform has a deck, a shoulder, and a rail and can be used with most portable circular power saws and involves using a portion of the deck and the coplanar shoulder, which is detachably secured to the deck, in order to support and guide the saw's baseplate. The upstanding rail is adjustably mounted on top of the deck and provides a guide surface for one edge of the baseplate.

  • Patent number: 4377909
Abstract: Driven and idle sprocket wheels are journaled in aligned relation for rotation about spaced apart parallel axes and a chain is trained over the sprocket wheels. The sprocket wheels are journaled from a support structure and the latter includes an elongated support member guidingly supported therefrom for rectilinear reciprocation along a path generally paralleling the reaches of the chain extending between the sprocket wheels.

  • Patent number: 4317280
Abstract: Apparatus for cutting pipe and other objects in which a power saw is pressure fed to and through the pipe or object. The saw is mounted on a shaft and the entire saw and shaft assembly rotated by a power mechanism, such as a clock or coil spring, to feed the saw to and through the pipe.

  • Patent number: 4268966
Abstract: A portable, lightweight, reciprocating saw for topping trees and the like has a frame with a clamp for attaching the frame to a tree. The frame has a pair of interconnected sprockets, one attached through a shaft to a detachable, portable power drill, and the other attached at its periphery to a curved blade. As the second sprocket is rotated, the saw blade reciprocates. The reciprocating saw blade is held against a tree top or branch by means of a biased blade guide adapted to move along a guide rail disposed perpendicularly of the frame in one plane and of the tree in the other plane for essentially automated, non-manual operation of the saw.

  • Patent number: 4077292
Abstract: A portable power tool having a sole plate for contacting a workpiece along which a straight line is to be cut has an attachment for the sole plate which includes means for supporting a guiding means which is adjustable with respect to the supporting means to cooperate with a longitudinal guide member releasably attached to the workpiece. The guide member may be angle iron, channel iron, I-beam or other similar configuration conveniently available to a workman and not especially designed to be used with the attachment.

  • Patent number: 4048720
Abstract: A guide apparatus is provided for guiding movement of a chain saw in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis of the bar of the saw through a member in which it is desired to cut an opening with the chain saw. The guide apparatus includes a guide member disposed contiguous to the member to be cut. The guide member has a guide surface thereon which is disposed parallel to the axis of an opening to be cut in the member and parallel to the longitudinal axis of the chain saw. A guide means is provided for engaging the guide surface and guiding relative movement between the guide surface and the guide means in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis of the bar of the saw.
