Abstract: A quick release apparatus for a bicycle tire or tube is provided, which reduces time and effort spent in changing the tire or tube. A main wheel frame and a sub wheel frame are provided. These two frames with rim respectively can be assembled to construct a complete wheel frame set. When said main wheel frame connects with the sub wheel frame, it provides a complete rim with two walls for containing the tube. When said main wheel frame leaves said sub wheel frame, it generates a gap between these two frames for removing the tube easily.

Abstract: A rim (5) for a bicycle wheel having a body (20) with a substantially annular extension with a radially outer portion (22) shaped for coupling with a tire is disclosed. The radially outer portion (22) has a hole (39) for an inflation valve. The radially outer portion (22) also includes, at the hole (39) and/or in an area proximal to the hole (39), at least one cross section having a different shape from that at an area distal from the hole, so as to form at least one second surface discontinuity (35) along the annular extension of the radially outer portion (22). The second discontinuity (35) makes it easier to assemble to wheel and allows an optimal coupling to be made between the rim (5), inflation valve, and tire, in the case of a tubeless wheel, and between rim (5), air chamber and tire, in the case of a wheel with an air chamber.
Abstract: Bicycle rims that allow tires to be more easily mounted in a tubeless configuration are disclosed. More specifically, a bicycle rim may control the two beads of the tire with separate bead channels for each bead and a center bridge extending between the two bead channels.

Abstract: A carbon fiber rim contains: a body, two clamping pieces, and a plurality of covering layers. The body includes a recessed fixing face defined on an outer diameter thereof so as to fix a tire and two connecting faces formed on two sides thereof so as to align with the two clamping pieces, and each clamping piece is a circular loop and corresponds to a profile of an outer peripheral side of the body. The plurality of covering layers are fitted and surround around the body and the two clamping pieces. Thereby, the two clamping pieces are fixed on the two connecting faces of the body by using the plurality of covering layers so that the two brake blocks do not contact with the body directly and brake a bicycle wheel via the two clamping pieces.
Abstract: The invention is directed to a rim such as a rim for a cycle. The rim includes a circularly extending hollow box-shaped element, in the form of a radial profile of revolution about a transverse axis, with two end surfaces of such element being joined end-to-end at a junction and affixed via a sleeve that is positioned within the hollow box-shaped element, on each side of the junction. The sleeve includes a pair of bearing portions, which exert an internal force inside and against the walls of the hollow box-shaped element, such force being generated by a relative spacing apart of the bearing portions via a spreading device, such as at least one spacing member. The spacing member can be a wedging member or a screw, configured and arranged in association with the bearing portions so as to direct the bearing forces along an essentially transverse direction toward the side walls of the rim. The invention is also directed to a wheel having such a rim, as well as to a method of manufacturing such rim and wheel.
Abstract: A segmented wagon wheel design, formed of a series of segments incorporating a part of a felloe, one or more, but preferably, a pair of spokes, and a segment of a hub, molded as an integral structure, which when formed through the interconnection of a series of the segments together, into the shape of a wagon wheel, forms a segmented wagon wheel that appears to be seamless of design, and yet highly structured for implanting or resting upon the front lawn or business, for displaying other indicia such as the homeowner's name, an address, and other seasonal displays, as desired.
Abstract: The invention relates to a wheel, especially a light-metal wheel for motor vehicles, consisting of a star of spokes (12) and a wheel rim (10) provided with an inner base (16) and an outer base (14) that respectively merge into an inner rim end (20) on the inner side of the wheel and into an outer rim end (18) on the outer side of the wheel. A hollow chamber (26, 27, 29) extending at least partially continuously in the peripheral direction is formed in the region of the inner side of the wheel and/or the outer side of the wheel, and can be defined by a profiled wall (28) in the region of the inner base (16) of the rim or the outer base (14) of the rim. In order to create an especially cost-effective structure that can be subjected to mechanical stresses, the profiled wall (28) is embodied as a single component.
Abstract: A drive sprocket assembly for driving an endless chain assembly for propelling a machine has a hub portion and flexible cantilever teeth in which each tooth is separately deflectable upon impact by a bushing of the endless chain assembly. The flexibility of each tooth will absorb a portion of the kinetic energy of the impact to reduce noise in the structure. The drive sprocket assembly includes a plurality of segments each having the cantilever teeth. Each segment has a first end portion and a second end portion having an end relief which prevents wear between the segment and the hub as the end portion is deflected by the impact.

Abstract: A fiber resin plastic (FRP) based bicycle rim includes an FRP body and a metal tire receiving ring. The FRP body has first and second side surfaces, an annular outer edge surface, and an annular inner edge surface. The annular inner edge surface includes at least two spoke receiving ports for receiving and supportively coupling at least two spokes to the FRP body. The metal tire receiving ring is coupled to the FRP body and is disposed radially outwardly of the FRP body. The tire receiving ring includes first and second, generally parallel continuous braking surfaces.
Abstract: A bicycle wheel rim includes an annular frame formed from a metal strip with opposite end portions and having spaced left and right annular tire retaining walls with brake pad contacting surfaces, an annular inner spoke mounting wall interconnecting inner edges of the tire retaining walls, and an annular outer connecting wall disposed around the spoke mounting wall and interconnecting the tire retaining walls. The tire retaining walls, the spoke mounting wall and the outer connecting wall cooperatively confine an annular channel. Each of the left and right annular tire retaining walls, the spoke mounting wall and the outer connecting wall has two confronting end faces that are disposed respectively at the end portions of the metal strip and that are in close contact with each other. A connecting member is fitted in the channel and extends into the end portions of the metal strip. A weld connection is provided on the annular frame to strengthen connection between the end portions of the metal strip.
Abstract: A hub which is configured to have only one flange is able to evenly spread torque acting thereon through spokes securely received between the hub and a rim which is configured to have a plurality of holes defined therein for receiving ends the spokes.
Abstract: A split transport wheel is described including first and second wheel halves, each having an arcuate external tire receiving surface spanned by a joint surface. The two halves may be selectively assembled with the joint surfaces in juxtaposition and with the tire receiving surfaces forming a relatively continuous tire receiving surface. A clamp assembly releasably joins the first and second wheel halves and is selectively operable to (a) draw the respective joint surfaces together in juxtaposition and (b) release the first and second wheel halves to be separated. A tire, formed of a strip of tire material, may be releasably wrapped about the tire receiving surfaces of the wheel halves. A first tire end anchor on the first wheel half releasably receives one of the strip ends, and a second tire end anchor on the second wheel half releasably receives the remaining tire strip end.
Abstract: Lightweight wheel rims for bicycles are formed by pin joints wherein a pin traverses the joint connecting a pair of adjacent ends of a rim member and extend into passages in the rim member on opposite sides of the joint. The improved joint is formed by resilient arms on the pin (or passage) that are resiliently bent or bowed between a pair of spaced contact areas when the pin is forced into the passage and apply pressure resiliently between the pin and the passage wall so the force are applied to inside walls of the passage so that more deflection occurs in the arms as opposed to the rim. In another embodiment of the present invention circumferentially spaced vents are formed leading from the circumferential pin receiving passages to the spoke holes.
Abstract: A bicycle wheel rim includes a circular structure having two end portions, Two holes are formed in each of the end portions, Two pins, each having two end portions engaged in the holes and two opposite helical threads. The helical threads engage into the holes when the pin rotates in one direction and when the end portions of the rim toward the pin.
Abstract: Improved pin-assembly connecting joint for interconnecting the ends of aluminum alloy wheel rim extrusions, characterized by pin members force fit into tubulations having a larger total cross sectional area than the pin members so as to form channels in a portion of the tubulation, and the channels are sealed with an adhesive to provide a barrier against liquid chemicals, as well as a joint of enhanced strength.
