Abstract: Rotors for electrical machines and methods of fabricating the same are disclosed. Electrical machine rotors may include a hollow non-magnetic shaft, an active region, and a plurality of coolant passages extending within the active region. The hollow non-magnetic shaft may extend along an axis and have an exterior surface that defines a shaft space extending along the axis. At least a portion of the active region may be disposed within the shaft space.
Abstract: Induction motors may have a rotor that includes a shaft and a plurality of rotor laminations. The plurality of rotor laminations may have a central bore sized to receive the shaft, and the shaft may have a laminated portion that extends throughout the central bore. In other embodiments, the plurality of rotor laminations may have a very small or no central bore, and the shaft may include first and second end pieces respectively attached on opposite sides of the plurality of rotor laminations. In some embodiments, the first and second end shaft pieces may be attached to the rotor laminations with a through bolt that passes through the rotor laminations via a central bore sized no larger than needed to receive the through bolt, allowing each of the rotor laminations to have a larger laminated surface area. Methods of assembling a rotor are also provided, as are other aspects.
Abstract: A rotor disk for an electric motor including a shaft hole for receiving a shaft of the electric motor, a set of positioning holes around the shaft hole, each configured to receive a positioning pin. The shaft hole and the set of positioning holes are positioned in the rotor disk such that when the rotor disk is set to a rotated position with respect to another similar rotor disk, and the shaft and the positioning pins are penetrated to the respective holes of the two rotor disks, the disks cause a pressing force to the shaft.
Abstract: A rotor for an electrical machine includes a first shaft part and a second shaft part, which is arranged separately from the first shaft part. A first supporting element is connected in a manner fixed against rotation to the first shaft part, and a second supporting element is connected in a manner fixed against rotation to the second shaft part. The rotor has a yoke which connects the first supporting element to the second supporting element and includes a plurality of laminates arranged one behind the other, and which has cutouts extending in the direction of the axis of rotation in the interior of the yoke, and permanent magnets arranged in the cutouts. The yoke has holes extending in the direction of the axis of rotation, with tensioning pins extending through the holes in the yoke to brace the laminates.

Abstract: Disclosed is a washing machine which includes a tub which holds laundry, a drum which is disposed in and rotates within the tub, a stator which is fixed to the tub, and a rotor which is fixed to the drum. The rotor includes a frame, a bushing installed on the frame, a motor shaft having an end which is inserted in and fixed to the bushing, a bearing interposed between the motor shaft and the tub, and at least one guide disposed between the motor shaft and the bushing at an end of the bushing.
