  • Patent number: 11936263
Abstract: A stator assembly and stator for a motor is provided that directly installs in a conductor slot a slot wedge having a width approximately the same as the width of the conductor slot. The slot wedge is limited in three directions, circumferential, radial, and axial, by means of cooperation between a slot wedge pressing ring, a conductor, and a sidewall of the conductor slot, and at the same time, the slot wedge is capable of preventing the conductor from falling out of the conductor slot. In addition, in the stator assembly for a motor disclosed, when the slot wedge is installed, the slot wedge may not only be inserted and installed in the conductor slot along the axial direction, but may also be inserted and installed in the conductor slot along the radial direction, and thus, the installation mode is flexible, which may improve the installation efficiency.

  • Patent number: 11437874
Abstract: A generator stator end winding coil support assembly is presented. The assembly includes a bracket rigidly secured to a core flange plate and a brace clamped between a backup plate and the bracket by studs. The brace connects to an inner support ring. An elastic layer is disposed around the brace. Sleeves are disposed in apertures of the brace and enclose the studs. The sleeves set up a gap at interfaces between the brace and the bracket and between the brace and the backup plate that defines a compression of the elastic layer. The compression enables the brace to be movable relative to the bracket rigidly secured to the core flange plate for flexibly supporting the end winding coils. Flexibility and stiffness of the support is controllable by adjusting clamping force of the studs and selection of the elastic layer based on load conditions during operation.

Abstract: A method for sealing fluid cooled conduits in-situ for a generator is provided. The fluid or liquid cooled conduits are located external to a stator of the generator and substantially outward of stator bars. The method includes draining coolant from the fluid cooled conduits, and drying interior surfaces of the fluid cooled conduits. In inserting step inserts a borescope and a sealant applicator through an opening in one of the fluid cooled conduits. A locating step locates a brazed joint in the fluid cooled conduit, and a positioning step positions the borescope and the sealant applicator near the brazed joint. An applying step applies a sealant to the inside of the fluid cooled conduit at the brazed joint A viewing step may be used to view the brazed joint with the borescope to confirm that the applying step has been successful.
