Abstract: An electric motor comprises a stator having a plurality of conductive windings radially spaced about a central axis. The motor includes a rotor located radially inward of the stator and rotationally fixed with respect to a shaft disposed along the central axis. The rotor defines an area in which, upon rotation of the rotor, a low pressure vacuum is created drawing air radially outward, with respect to the rotor, from the area. The rotor also includes an annular plate disposed at a transverse end of the rotor coaxial with the shaft. The annular plate defines at least one hole extending axially through the annular plate and in pneumatic communication with the area. The hole is configured so air is drawn by the low pressure vacuum through the hole to the area.

The number of blades on each fan is set to a certain odd numeral, and moreover, the number of blades on the front fan is different from that of the rear fan. The number of blades on each fan may be set to an odd numeral which is not a multiple of numeral of three.

Abstract: The present invention provides an improved rotor and end connector for an induction motor. The end connector adjoins a rotor core. The rotor core includes a plurality of spaced ventilation openings and defines an aperture for capturing a motor shaft. The end connector should preferably surround and be concentric with the inner ventilation openings. To increase ventilation efficiency, the end connector has a plurality of spaced fan blades. Each of the fan blades has a sloping inner surface and backward curving outer surface. The backward curving outer surface is substantially perpendicular to the end connector, and directs air flow radially outward.

Abstract: In a self-ventilated electrical machine with vertical shaft, the ventilator is centered and releasably fastened to a hub on the rotor shaft below the stack of rotor plates. The ventilator must be detached from the hub before it can be removed from the housing of the machine. To facilitate assembly and dismantling of the ventilator disk on the hub, the hub has an annular protuberance which can be gripped radially from behind. At least three mobile clamping pieces are distributed uniformly around its circumference and can be engaged by interlocking or friction. The clamping pieces are carried by the ventilator disk and at least one limit stop for each clamping piece is arranged on the holding device for each clamping piece. This clamping connection of the ventilator to the hub of the rotor shaft is particularly suitable for self-ventilated high-voltage motors with high output and with a vertical rotor shaft.

  • Patent number: 5132581
Abstract: In an AC generator having a plurality of claw-shaped magnetic pole portions in a rotor, a pair of projected portions which extend toward an outer circumference from both ends of boss portions on an outer circumference of a shaft are provided, and permanent magnets are also provided so as to abut against the projected portions so that magnetic flux is applied in the same direction as the magnetic flux applied to the projected portions when an electric current is applied to a field winding which is wound around the boss portions. With a magnetic path thus constructed, it is possible that the magnetic flux if permanent magnets is put on the magnetic flux produced by a field winding, thus applying much magnetic flux to the stator. As a result, the output per weight can be increased.
