  • Patent number: 8721010
Abstract: An equipment cabinet having a corrugation in the side panels is disclosed. The panels are affixed to a base by bolting or welding so as to be disposed opposite each other. Holes are provided in opposing surfaces the so that cross members may be secured in a position between the opposing side panels of the cabinet to form a support structure for equipment, such as batteries. Equipment may also be attached using mounting brackets. An equipment retaining bracket includes a retaining cross member, an L-shaped bracket and a bolt to joint the retaining cross member and the L-shaped bracket so as to secure the battery in two dimensions. Retaining brackets may be provided at the front and the rear surfaces of the equipment and, in cooperation with the cross members, retain the equipment in the cabinet.

The frame may be open in a vertical region between the top and bottom of the frame, or between an upper and a lower drawer, in a horizontal region including the bottom of the upper drawer. The frame may also be without horizontal members between the fronts of the drawers. The frame and a drawer may each have a part of a drawer slider mechanism integrated into them. The top and bottom of the frame may be sized and configured such that an upper frame bottom may nest into a lower frame top. A slider mechanism may resist lateral deflection of the side of the frame. The fronts of the drawers may slope upwards to the back of the drawer. The front of the frame may include surfaces backing or obscuring from view angled portions of the drawer fronts.

Abstract: The present invention is a modular construction method for enclosures and counter assemblies. The counter assembly has a series of modules, which can be added or removed at will. The counter assembly comprises an innovative metal framework having modules connected by angled splices to enhance customization into variable shapes and sizes. Cross-supporting framework and perimeter rails may be added to incorporate customized components for drawers, shelving, appliances, storage, access doors, vents, and the like. The framework is capable of supporting countertops formed in a shape corresponding to the shape of the modular assembly. Side panels may be supported on the framework for purposes of enclosing the assembly, said panels being attached by a plurality of metal clips designed to fit into the metal framework with extensions designed to secure the side panels. The framework and components of the counter assembly are moveable, rearrangeable, and replaceable.
