Abstract: A radio frequency filter system includes a first acoustic resonator (54, 56) for a first frequency and a second acoustic resonator (54, 56) for a second frequency. An acoustic reflector array (102, 152, 202) is coupled to an electrode of the first acoustic resonator (54, 56) and to an electrode of the second acoustic resonator (54, 56). The acoustic reflector array (102, 152, 202) includes a plurality of reflector layers (112, 152, 210). A first reflector layer (112, 152, 210) is operable to reflect a signal at substantially the first frequency. A second reflector layer (112, 152, 210) is operable to reflect a signal at substantially the second frequency.

Abstract: An elevating device includes a facility, such as a planer displayer slidably received in a housing and movable outward of the housing in an outward working position and inward of the housing in an inward storing position for allowing the displayer to be covered and shielded in the housing and to be prevented from being dirtied. A pneumatic or hydraulic actuator or a motorized elevating device is disposed in the housing for moving the monitor in and out of the housing. One or more posts are disposed in the housing for guiding the object to move up and down along the posts.

Abstract: A display case security apparatus comprises a housing, a plurality of platform guide tracks, a platform, an elevating mechanism, and a closure. The housing includes a lower storage section and an upper display section disposed above the storage section. The storage section has an opaque exterior wall and the display section has an exterior wall which is at least partially transparent. The platform guide tracks are disposed on the interior of the housing. The platform is disposed within the housing and includes a generally horizontal portion for supporting articles to be displayed. The platform is selectively movable between a first position, wherein any articles supported on the platform are displayed in the display section of the housing, and a second position, wherein any articles supported on the platform are stored in the storage section of the housing. The platform interfits with the platform guide tracks so as to constrain the movement of the platform to vertical translation only.

Abstract: A baggage bin has a floor and side walls, and is lowerable from a housing. Guide bolts secured to one side wall are movably engaged in front and rear arcuate grooves with a common arc center point in the other side wall. A guide roller or slide block secured to one side wall is movably engaged in a linear guide track or groove on the other side wall. To lower the bin, it first moves linearly downward, until the rear guide bolt reaches an end of the rear groove, and then pivots about the rear guide bolt as the front guide bolt moves farther in the longer arc of the front groove, so that the front loading edge of the bin tilts downward. The components are simple, and the lateral space required between the side walls of the bin and the housing is small.

Abstract: A linear actuator for a platform having a frame with an open end and a platform moveable within the frame, said platform driven by a motor powered axle mounted traversely to the platform. The platform is driven by a drive system powered by the motor driven axle and generally having a pair of fixed pitch independent devices, such as chains, each chain mounted at each of its ends to the frame and aligned with the platform's axis of travel, a double drive sprocket adjacent an end of the axle, a pair of double idler pulleys aligned substantially with a chain, a pair of single idler pulleys aligned substantially with the other chain. Each chain is routed through the double drive sprocket and one chain routes through the double idler pulley, while the other chain routes trough the both the double idler pulleys and the pair of single idler pulleys.

Abstract: A cabinet for mounting to a wall or ceiling with downward extendable and retractable shelving assembly is provided. The cabinet includes a housing having an open bottom. Disposed within the housing is a shelving assembly having a plurality of shelves. A novel combination of a tension gas spring and telescoping drawer glides are used for mounting the shelving assembly to the housing. When items are needed from the cabinet, the shelving is pulled down until all the shelves are exposed. When access is no longer needed, a light tap to the bottom of the shelving assembly causes the tension gas spring to smoothly retract the shelving assembly back into the housing.

Abstract: A height adjustable structure of a desk combination includes a drawer cabinet having two sides each provided with a fixed plate, a gear and a pivot arm pivotally mounted on the fixed plate, a torsion spring mounted on the pivot arm so that a mediate portion of the pivot arm is deflected leftward or rightward by the torsion spring, a protective board mounted in an opening defined in the upper portion of the fixed plate, a movable plate slidably mounted on the protective board and having a lower portion defining an elongated successive multiple stepwise locking slot, a rack mounted on one side of the movable plate and meshing with the gear, a support frame secured on a top of the movable plate and engaged with a table face. In such a manner, when the height of the table face is adjusted, the rack of the movable plate is slidable on the gear of the fixed plate.

Abstract: A workplace aid for kitchens having a working surface for cutting and cleaning vegetables, fruit or the like, and for subsequent direct conveyance into a container. The workplace aid composed of a case having a circular design and having a work plate which constitutes the upper closure, is integrated, in its entirety, in a working surface having a cut-out of a kitchen combination. The work plate, lying loose on the case and being connected to a lift table which is seated eccentrically on the case bottom of the case and has a scissor-type design, is adjustable in its height and laterally displaceable. This has the advantage that the prepared, for example, vegetables can easily be conveyed into a ready container due to the adjustability of the work plate in its height and the lateral displacement of the work plate over the cooking area.

Abstract: A freezer chest for storing and displaying frozen foods such as packaged ice cream products for sale to retail customers includes a modular storage bin in which a product stack plate is mounted on a helical support spring. Packaged ice cream products are loaded onto the product stack plate. The product stack plate, urged by the helical spring, advances the stack of frozen products to the top of the storage bin as products are removed by customers. A permanent magnet mounted on the product stack plate generates a magnetic field that couples with position sensors mounted in a vertical array along the storage bin. Each sensor produces an output signal in response to coupling alignment of the magnetic field with the sensor as the stack plate moves through the storage bin. The helical support spring extends the stack plate incrementally in proportion to the weight load removed as each packaged product is unloaded.

Abstract: A hanging closet apparatus for storing items in the ceiling. The hanging closet apparatus includes a housing having a top wall, a bottom wall, a back wall, a first side wall, and a second side wall. A plurality of apertures is in the first and second side walls. A latch means selectively holds the housing in an extending position from the ceiling and a retracted position in the ceiling. The latch means extends through the apertures in the housing in a locked position. An enclosure receives the housing in the ceiling. The enclosure is mounted in the ceiling. The enclosure has two pairs of opposing walls. A first pair of opposing walls has apertures therein. The apertures in the enclosure are positioned such that the apertures in the housing are aligned with the apertures in the enclosure when the housing is in the enclosure. A biasing means biases the housing toward the retracted position in the enclosure. The biasing means comprises a pulley system.

Abstract: A lower rack lifting device for a dishwasher for loading and unloading the lower rack without having to stoop. The lower rack lifting device for a dishwasher includes a plurality of track members including first track members being adapted to be securely mounted upon and spaced to either side of a bottom wall of a dishwasher and also including second track members being adapted to be securely mounted to side walls of the dishwasher near an opening to the dishwasher; and also includes a scissors-like lifting assembly for lifting the lower rack upwardly upon the lower rack being moved out from the dishwasher; and further includes a plurality of roller members including first roller members being mounted upon the third track members, and also including second roller members being mounted to the scissors-like lifting assembly, and further including third roller members being adapted to be securely mounted to the lower rack and being movably disposed in the second track members.

Abstract: An article support and transfer assembly includes a carrier frame, which is selectively shiftable between raised and lowered positions relative to a countertop work surface, and an article support tray which is mounted for sliding movement in opposing directions between a first extended position, wherein the article support tray projects, at least partially, over the work surface and, a second extended position, wherein the tray projects over a side edge portion of the countertop. The tray can be shifted between the first and second extended positions for loading and unloading thereof and arranged in an intermediate position wherein the tray can be lowered with the carrier frame into a base associated with the countertop.

Abstract: A baseball dispenser for storing and dispensing a balls, comprising a cylindrical container which has an interior sized to hold a large supply of baseballs, softballs, and the like, and an opening at its top for receiving balls into the interior thereof. The baseball dispenser has a pair of handles secured to the upper end of the container and a pair of wheels rotatably mounted to the lower end thereof for facilitating easy transportation across the surface of the ground. One or more support columns extend vertically from the bottom of the container, wherein a compression spring is disposed about each of the support columns. A circular platform is vertically slidably disposed within the container and is engaged with the support columns such that the compression springs are constrained axially between the bottom of the container and the platform.

Abstract: A kitchen countertop assembly includes multiple, integrated work spaces having associated surfaces which can be adjusted vertically. At least two of the work surfaces can be individually, vertically adjusted relative to the remainder of the work surfaces. In accordance with the most preferred form of the invention, first, second and third work surfaces are defined by an overall kitchen island, with the first work surface being defined by a main countertop, the second work surface being defined by a tabletop supported above a portion of the first work surface by a pair of spaced pillars which project through the countertop and into a base of the assembly, and a third work surface is constituted by a table which projects from the base at a position offset from the countertop. With this arrangement, each of the countertop, tabletop and table member can be raised or lowered, either simultaneously or individually, in order to customize the overall kitchen countertop assembly to a particular user.

Abstract: A clip or protrusion which is built into the mechanism of a parking meter allows the mechanism to be attached outside the meter housing in an upright position so that it can be evaluated and simple repairs can be performed quickly without dropping the mechanism onto the pavement. By designing the clip with tapered notches, the mechanism can be attached to various thicknesses or styles of meter housings.

Two slide grooves are formed in two laterals of the lower housing. Four annular seats are disposed in four inner corners of the upper housing. Each link device has an oblong hole, a round hole, and a through hole. A pin passes through the round hole to fasten the respective link device on the respective annular seat. A male fastener passes through two oblong holes of two link devices to fasten two link devices together. A female fastener engages with the male fastener. A caster is inserted through the respective through hole. A retainer button engages with the caster. The caster is inserted in the respective slide groove.

Abstract: An apparatus for moving a member between a retracted position and an extended position includes a housing, a movement mechanism, a linear lead screw, a first carriage, and a second carriage. The housing has a curved path between the retracted position and the extended position. The lead screw has a longitudinal axis and threads. The movement mechanism is coupled to the lead screw to rotate the lead screw about the longitudinal axis. The first carriage has a connecting structure and a bore with threads that mate with the threads of the lead screw to move the carriage linearly along the longitudinal axis of the lead screw when the lead screw rotates. The second carriage is coupled to the member and has a connecting structure.

Abstract: An ergonomic adjustable work surface system (12) comprising a cabinet (14) having a counter top (16) thereon. An assembly (18) is for setting the cabinet (14) in a height up and down movable manner against a wall (20) in a room (22) of a building (24). A facility (26) is for adjusting the height of the counter top (16) of the cabinet (14) with respect to a floor (28) in the room (22) of the building (24), so as to greatly reduce a lower back problem caused by an individual working in a standing position at the cabinet (14), by affording the individual easy height adjustment of the counter top (16) to ergonomically correspond to the individual's statue.

Abstract: A front panel assembly for maintaining on a mainframe of a computer, including a base frame having two longitudinal sliding grooves bilaterally disposed at the front side thereat, and a bottom cover covered on the lower half of the base frame and mounted with an air filter. A gear holder is mounted on the base frame and holds a gear, and a dust cover is mounted on the base frame and moves along the longitudinal sliding grooves between the closed and the open position. The dust cover has a longitudinal rack meshed with the gear and a locating hole at the back near the top. A latch on the base frame is forced by a spring into engagement with the locating hole of the dust guard to lock the dust guard in the closed position, and a spring-supported press button on the base frame is controlled to release the latch from the locating hole of the dust guard.

Abstract: A desk selectively used as a reading or computer desk is disclosed. The desk has a liftable monitor case that is movably received in the desk and selectively moves in vertical direction between monitor visible and nonvisible positions. In order to vertically move the above monitor case between the two positions, the desk according to an embodiment has an automatic case lifting device including a motor-driven pantographic link work. In the case lifting device, a movable nut along with a contact bracket engages with the output shaft of a reversible motor and horizontally reciprocates along the shaft by the rotating force of the shaft. The contact bracket horizontally moves between two positions where the bracket comes into contact with limit switches, respectively, to stop the motor. The reversible motor starts to extend or retract the link work when the keyboard drawer is fully drawn out or closed.

Abstract: An aeration incubator achieves a high atmospheric humidity in the interior working space of the incubator by placing a heated water tub in the working space. In order to avoid condensation on the walls of the incubator tank, a condensate tub is also placed in the working space. The condensate tub is maintained at a temperature which is slightly lower than the temperature of the working space. The condensate tub produces a defined coldest location in the working space, so that condensation occurs primarily in the condensate tub.

Abstract: A theft-resistant display case includes a housing having a lower storage section and an upper display section mounted above the storage section. The storage section has an obscuring exterior wall and the display section has an exterior wall that is at least partly transparent. A platform is movably mounted within the housing for supporting items to be displayed. The platform is selectively raised into a first position in the housing wherein items supported on the platform are displayed in the upper section of the housing. The platform is selectively lowered into a second position in the housing wherein items supported on the platform are stored in the lower section of the housing. An obscuring closure is selectively interposed between the upper and lower sections when the platform is in the second position such that the platform and items supported thereon are enclosed within the lower section of the housing and hidden from view.

The shaped projection (10) is disengageable from the recess (15) with a lifting movement of the pivot member (6) along the elongate hole (9) in such a way as to permit the movable divider (5) to rotate towards the lowered position.

Abstract: An article storing arrangement having a filter device 11 mounted to the back side of an article storing shelf assembly 4, the filter device 11 having a mounting frame member 12 removably attached to a support frame 6, a filter 14 provided at a position corresponding to an opening of the mounting frame member 12, and a cover member 17 covering the outer surface of the filter 14, the cover member 17 having an air inlet port 20 at the top thereof. The filter device is mounted to the support frame through the mounting frame member. Therefore, when a filter performance test is required in an actually mounted condition, such a test can be carried out simply by fixing the filter device to the mounting frame member. Accordingly, such performance test can be effected with far much greater ease than in the case where a performance test is carried out, for example, by attaching the filter, cover member, and the like directly to the support frame.

A pair of rear guide projections project laterally from the opposite sides of the rear end of the keyboard lid. A pair of side plates are arranged on opposite sides of the keyboard. Each one of the pair of side plates has a front guide groove engaging with a respective one of the pair of front guide projections and a rear guide groove engaging with a respective one of the pair of rear guide projections. In this manner, the keyboard lid is slidably guided between an open position and a close position.

Abstract: A lifter particularly usable for an LC display unit includes a slide board bearing the display unit overhead and driven for vertical movement by a lift drive motor associated with a swing arm kept in rolling contact with the slide board, a gear assembly mounted to the slide board for converting rotation of a tilt drive motor into corresponding tilting of the display unit, and various sensors for controlling rotation of the motors on detection of the positions of the display unit. Vertical movement of the display unit requires a quarter rotation of the swing arm which is very small in ambit and, as a consequence, a compact and light design of the entire lifter construction. The rolling contact of the swing arm with the slide board assures reliable fail-safe function when smooth vertical movement of the slide board is hindered by accidental introduction of a foreign matter in its path of travel.

Abstract: An operator work station defined by a wall having a support assembly for mounting a monitor within a housing within an opening in the wall, the support assembly enabling the monitor to have four degrees of freedom. The support assembly includes a counterbalanced horizontal bar slidably disposed in the opening parallel to the wall for enabling the monitor to be raised and lowered parallel to the wall. Bearings rigidly secured to the bar receive rods rigidly secured to a horizontal plate, the movement of which enables the monitor to be moved perpendicular to the wall. A shaped plate pivotally connected between the horizontal plate and the housing enables the monitor to rotate about a vertical axis. Such rotation is limited by posts rigidly secured to the bar which engage the sides of the shaped plate when the shaped plate is rotated with respect to the wall.

Abstract: The invention provides a load-distributing platform transport apparatus comprising a housing, a platform disposed in the housing and movable in the first direction, a capstan rotatably mounted to the housing and an endless cable guidably coupled to the housing and wound about the capstan to move therewith. The cable is configured to have four segments generally parallel and movable in the same direction simultaneously, the platform being fastened to each of the four segments. Means for rotating the capstan, such as an electric motor, are provided. When the capstan is rotated, it translates the endless cable such that each of the four segments moves in a desired direction thereby moving the platform. By providing an endless cable to which the platform is attached at four separate points, no part of the platform can move in a particular direction without the remaining points of attachment also moving.

Abstract: An operator work station including a plurality of desk modules located adjacent a wall or walls and defining one or more continuous work surfaces. The modules include a standard desk module, an end, or stand-alone, module and a corner module. An opening is formed through one of the walls in a predetermined relationship with the work surface modules, and a housing for receiving a monitor is pivotally mounted for movement about a vertical axis relative to said opening to adjust the monitor relative to the work surface modules for viewing. The work surface modules can be configured to provide one or more continuous work surfaces along one wall, around a corner and along another wall.

The lid lies flush with the desktop in a closed lid position and has a front lid edge which forms an acute lid edge angle with the transverse axis of the desktop.

Glass shelves (40) are supported by independent shelf supports (42) adjustably and slideably positioned on the vertical tension rods (32).

Abstract: A vertical retractable storage system includes a frame, a storage unit, and a vertical lift mechanism retractably supporting the storage unit relative to the frame. The vertical lift mechanism includes a lift structure that operates on a horizontal plane to provide both vertical and horizontal stability to the storage unit during movement between a storage position and an access position. In one aspect of the present invention, the frame is fixed to a roof or super-structure above a suspended ceiling such that in a retracted position the storage unit is disposed above the ceiling, and a base or bottom portion of the storage unit conforms with the ceiling and thereby hides the unit. In another aspect of the present invention, the vertical lift mechanism retractably supports the storage unit such that in the retracted position an access portion of the unit remains extended below the ceiling to permit access to at least a portion of the unit.

A rest plate is carried on the upper table top, whereby the rest plate will secure the base of the telephone thereto, so that a person using the telephone does not have to hold onto the base of the telephone.

The mechanism has a torsion spring counterbalance on a shaft extending the width of the shelf and gears at each end of the shaft which engage travelling rack gears attached beneath each end of the shelf. The shelf includes integral guide rails rolling on four bearings attached to the stationary frame of the cabinet. The use of spiral gears compensates for the spring torque variation and provides constant tangential gear force on the shelf regardless of the vertical position of the shelf. Having gears at each side of the moving shelf joined by a common shaft minimizes side-to-side tilting.

Abstract: An ice maker employing a relatively thin ice tray with sealed ice cube receptacles and having a freezing chamber of relatively small volume cooled by a high capacity cooling plate. The ice cube receptacles are sealed by a frangible cover to keep liqid water therein and to maintain frozen water in a sanitary state until the frangible cover is ruptured for the ice cubes to be used. The ice maker housing also may include other chambers for holding containers of food and drink. Abstract: A supporting device for supporting a vertically adjustable lifting platform in a container for the transportation, temporary storage and display and presentation of products such as packed foods, the lifting platform being adapted for carrying the products, comprises a lifting device for the vertical displacement of the lifting platform and is designed as a loose unit to be placed inside a casing forming the container. Preferably, the supporting device is designed so that it is folding or collapsible. The supporting device comprises a supporting bar for directly supporting the lifting platform. The supporting bar may be hingedly connected to the lifting device. Also, the supporting bar may have hingedly attached side leaves which together with the supporting bar form the lifting platform.

Abstract: A collapsible storage and display device includes a plurality of horizontally stacked bins cooperatively connected by forwardly extending side flanges to provide limited vertical sliding movement between each pair of adjacent bins. The forwardmost bin is anchored to a base. Lifting the rearwardmost bin relative to the base successively causes each bin to rise a predetermined distance and then lift the forwardly adjacent bin until the plurality of bins forms a horizontally stacked, stair-step display position. Pivoting support members are positioned to hold the device in the display position. A transport cover surrounds and protects the device and provides a means for carrying the device.

Abstract: A refrigerator door tray assembly includes a refrigerator door with an inner liner having a cavity defined by a rear wall and two forwardly projecting supporting side walls. Each of the side walls includes an inwardly projecting shoulder having an upwardly facing ledge that slopes downwardly toward the rear wall at a predetermined angle. A tray is provided for insertion into the cavity between the side walls. The tray comprises upstanding walls each having an outwardly extending arm. The arm has a downwardly facing surface that slopes downwardly at the predetermined angle such that the downwardly facing surface of the arm is adapted to at least partially engage the ledge during insertion and lie flush on the ledge once inserted into the cavity. The tray further includes laterally extending flanges adapted to engage the ends of the supporting side walls so as to cooperate with the arms and ledges to positively locate the tray in the door cavity.

Abstract: An executive desk which is readily and conveniently convertible from an executive desk to a computer center. The desk includes a cabinet for receiving a computer and a display screen. The top of the cabinet comprises a part of the top or working surface of the desk when the cabinet is in a retracted or executive desk position. The cabinet is elevatable from the retracted position to a computer center position wherein the computer is operable and the display screen may be viewed by the operator. The back part of the desk includes a platform formed in a central well for receiving a computer keyboard. A cover for the platform and well is hingeably affixed to the top of the cabinet and forms a part of the work surface of the desk when the cabinet is in its executive desk or retracted position.

Abstract: Disclosed is a convertible computer desk with a construction that allows it to convert from a conventionally appearing desk into a configuration in which computer equipment, such as a monitor and related equipment, is raised to desktop level from internal storage and a keyboard is exposed. A pair of upright, space-apart support walls extend from the front to the rear of the desk and are provided with tracking means along their upper portions, and a concealable keyboard support shelf extends between forward parts of the support walls. A storage compartment located between the support walls holds an elevatable equipment platform for raising equipment from within the compartment to desktop level. A pair of rectangular desktop panels are mounted to the tracking means in a manner which allows them to be manipulated during conversion from one desk configuration to another.
