Abstract: The concepts described herein provide a method, system, and apparatus for joining, via welding, first and second members fabricated from an aluminum alloy including aluminum, zinc, and manganese, such as 7000-series aluminum alloys, and a resultant workpiece. A junction is formed by a first member being disposed contiguously to a second member. A welding machine generates a weld pool at the junction that includes liquified aluminum alloy. An ultrasonic transducer directs ultrasonic energy in proximity to the weld pool. In some embodiments, an electro-magnetic transducer directs electro-magnetic energy in proximity to the weld pool. The first member is fused to the second member at the junction upon solidification of the weld pool.

Abstract: A drawing machine comprises a plate unit, a clamping device, a transmit member, a driving device and a cam. The transmit member includes a following roller. The driving device includes a main linkage inserted through the plate unit and having first and second ends. The cam includes first and second cam paths, with first cam path disposed between two sides of the second cam path. When the cam is in a first position, the distances between the first cam path and two sides of the second cam path are different. When the cam is in a second position, the distances between the first cam path and two sides of the second cam path are equal. The following roller drives the main linkage to pivot, with the clamping driven to clamp a rod or pipe. The plate unit is driven by the second cam path and reciprocates along the cam axially.

Abstract: A drawing machine includes a plate, a clamping device, a drawing device and a driving device. The clamping device includes two jaws movable on a first surface of the plate, a following element movable on a second surface of the plate and a linkage for connecting the jaws to the following element. The drawing device includes a following element attached to the second surface of the plate. The driving device includes first and driving elements at a shaft. For clamping, the first driving element drives the following element of the clamping device for a different distance than the second driving element drives the following element of the drawing device. For releasing, the first driving element drives the following element of the clamping device as fast as the second driving element drives the following element of the drawing device.
