  • Patent number: 9273762
Abstract: A device to help an individual with a disability carry his or her bag or storage unit on their wheelchair or other mobility device, without requiring a large space to deploy the storage and retrieval product. The invention consists of a set of arms, connected to a sliding mechanism along a track. When the user wishes to access his or her belongings, the bag slides from a storage position behind the wheelchair to a retrieval position perpendicular to the wheelchair's armrest. The deployment process is accomplished without rotating the entire mechanism around a central axis. Thus, the invention keeps the storage unit close to the wheelchair and therefore takes up less space during retrieval and increases stability during deployment.

  • Patent number: 8015720
Abstract: A tool and method for making precision cuts with conventional saws and other woodworking machines. The shape of an inside or outside corner of a construction, such as a wall construction, is obtained with the tool, and the tool is used to as a guide to set the blade of the cutting apparatus to the proper cutting position. The tool may be used to indicate the miter cuts for both inside and outside wall corners without having to measure the angle with a measuring tool and determine the precise degrees of the angles to be cut.

  • Publication number: 20090255137
Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus, system and computer program for scribing or otherwise controlling a tool to be applied to one or more objects. The apparatus comprises a pantograph for controlling the tool, the pantograph having a range of motion to accommodate different size objects. The system is operable to receive a data feed and control the tool on the basis of the data feed. The system preferably comprises a computer with a computer program including an algorithm for controlling tool contact and pressure and an algorithm for controlling the tool trajectory. The present invention is implemented as an improved realtime remote robotic writing system, having improved capabilities for writing on different media such as books of varying size and thicknesses.

  • Patent number: 7373734
Abstract: A linear proportioner including a logarithmic mechanism to be used for transferring linear dimensions from an existing drawing, picture or actual scene to a new drawing or artist medium. An elongated assembly provides two indicators (one fixed and one variable) as reference pointers, two indicators (one fixed and one variable) for object pointers and an adjustment knob which, when rotated, moves the variable indicators synchronously and proportionally. By depressing the knob when transferring the first object dimension, the proportion ratio (transparent to the operator) is automatically set for subsequent dimension transfers.

  • Patent number: 6854196
Abstract: An adjustable spacer tool for spacing balusters includes an extendable pantograpic assembly having a first and second end and including evenly-spaced parallel uprights and X-shaped sets of cross-bars pivotally connected to one another. Each X-shaped set is pivotally connected to a pair of uprights adjacent upper ends thereof and pivotally and slidably connected to the uprights adjacent lower ends thereof. An arm, finger and cam extend outwardly from each end of the assembly to provide spacing between each end of the assembly and a desired surface for various sets of same-width balusters. Each arm is pivotally connected to one end of the assembly and to one end of the finger. The other end of the finger is pivotally and slidably connected to a respective end of the assembly. Each cam is pivotally connected to the arm distal the assembly. Removable connections permit adjustment of the overall length of the tool and replacement of parts.

  • Patent number: 6694633
Abstract: A common rafter and hip layout tool which provides a protractor portion, a common cut marking edge, a common cut marking edge pantograph arm to which is connected a bird's mouth marking arm, a seat cut marking arm connected at a right angle to the bird's mouth marking arm and a tail length marking arm. The pantograph arm and connected bird's mouth marking arm facilitates the marking of the bird's mouth cut and the seat cut. Movement of the common cut marking edge to the location indicated by the tail length marking arm facilitates the making of parallel cuts for the common rafter ridge cut and the tail cut.

  • Patent number: 6560882
Abstract: A hand drawing machine which includes two spring-loaded spools. Each spool includes a length of flexible material, and each length of material is attached to a rigid stick or rod. The stick, which may be adjustable, includes a pair of stylus holders. The stylus holders can hold a marker or a tracing pin. Each of the spools has a gear portion that meshes with the other gear portion of the other spool. When a marker or tracing pin is moved a corresponding movement is made by the marker in the other stylus holder. The machine allows for the tracing of an image or for simultaneously drawing two copies of an image.
