  • Patent number: 7603853
Abstract: A plurality of interchangeable straight and curved short cylindrical module segments are selectively and releasably joined together end-to-end manually and rotated relative to one another to form full-scale three-dimensional models of desired complex shapes of tubing, pipe, and conduit configurations. The segments are provided in sets having outside diameters corresponding to the outside diameters of conventional tubing, pipe or conduit and have a circumferential scale at each end to visually determine the relative rotation between one segment and an adjoined segment. When assembled, the model provides accurate shapes and dimensions to aid in designing, laying out, cutting, and fabricating tubular members, and for forming tubular configurations from pre-bent metal tubular sections and the proper relative rotation between them.

  • Publication number: 20090133278
Abstract: An aerial target template for use in marking a ground surface is described. The template comprises a substantially rigid frame that is foldable from a collapsed position to an extended position. When in the extended position, a substantially rectangular-shaped opening is formed and defined by two long legs and two short legs. Two markers are formed on each of the long legs such that when a user paints a first substantially rectangular-shape upon a ground surface, the markers cause distinct markings upon the ground surface. Thus, a user can use the template to paint the first substantially rectangular-shape upon a ground surface and then use the distinct markings to align the two long legs with the distinct markings and paint a second substantially rectangular-shape upon the ground surface, with the first and second substantially rectangular-shapes collectively forming a cross upon the ground surface to operate as the aerial target.

  • Patent number: 7383640
Abstract: A quilting template system and a method for selecting a template to facilitate quilting a border-like area of a craft-work with length-sides and width-sides meeting at corners. The template system includes a set of templates each having an edge of repeated patterns of equal pattern-length but differing in pattern-length from template to template, and a correlator indicating which template(s) of the set are usable for the craft-work without fractional-pattern use on either the length-sides or the width-sides thereof. The method includes a sequence of steps for selecting a template by using the correlator to indicate which templates are usable for quilting the entire border-like area without fractional-pattern use. The system preferably includes groups of templates, templates of each group each having patterns of equal pattern-length but differing in pattern-shapes from template to template within the group.

Abstract: The present invention is a low-cost tile installation surface level gauge. The tile installation surface level gauge aims to fill the gap in existing tile flooring tools. The tile installation surface level gauge is used in putting all installed tiles on the same level accurately without repeated and time consuming adjustment. The tile installation surface level gauge includes a disk, a reeling thread, a base, and a thread reel tackle. One end of the reeling thread is attached to the middle of the disk. The thread reel tackle is installed onto the base. The process of using the tile surface level gauge is as follows: 1) once one tile is installed, slide the disk under one of the corners of the installed tile and leave the reeling thread uncovered. The installed tile covers about a quarter of the disk. 2) Install a second tile covering about a quarter of the disk and leave the reeling thread uncovered. The second tile shall align with the first installed tile.

  • Patent number: 7373729
Abstract: A device for laying floor and wall coverings in reentrant corners comprises an independent insert obtained from the same material as the flooring and having two dimensions before laying and being defined in three dimensions after laying and having, when flat, a geometrical configuration of irregular lines so that, after laying, said insert has a regular parallelepiped geometrical configuration. The insert includes, three triangular areas, of which two of the bases are part of the peripheral outline of the insert and the third inner base makes it possible, by consecutive juxtaposition, to obtain a central triangular part sloping, after laying, and situated in a forward plane away from the corner part where the successive walls and the floor meet.

Abstract: A template for positioning a pocket former wherein the template positions the pocket former at a fixed depth with respect to the top of concrete formwork. The template comprises a support and a body. The support positions the template; the body comprises a positioner for locating a pocket former. A spacer that connects to the support according to the desired depth of the pocket former can also be included. The template thus provides a reliable and efficient way of ensuring that a pocket former is placed at the appropriate depth.

Abstract: A lock template includes an elongated body member that defines a substantially rectangular first opening having a first length and a first width and an elongated first member. The elongated first member is configured to be removably-inserted into first end recesses of the body such that the first member is located at least partially within the first opening. The first member, when inserted in the first end recesses of the body, defines a wall of a second opening having a length substantially equal to the first length and a width smaller than the first width. The second opening is configured to guide a cutting instrument to form a mortise for a lock component in a passageway component. When the first member is inserted into the first end recesses a longitudinal central axis of the first insert member is offset from a central axis between the first end recesses of the body.
