Abstract: Electrodes (2) and (3) are formed on the front face (1A) and the rear face (1B) of a dielectric substrate (1). Fan-shaped apertures (4A) and (4B) forming a resonator (4) are formed in the electrodes (2) and (3) such that the fan-shaped aperture (4A) opposes the fan-shaped aperture (4B). Accordingly, two parameters, that is, the radius and the central angle, of the fan-shaped apertures (4A) and (4B) can be used to set the resonant frequency of the resonator (4), thus improving the flexibility in design of the resonator (4).

Abstract: The invention relates to a tunable resonator filter. In each resonator cavity of the filter there is a movable dielectric tuning element (728; 748) to adjust the resonator's natural frequency. The tuning elements are advantageously arranged to be moved by a common control implemented by a rod (708) joining them together, to shift the filter's band through equal displacements of the natural frequencies of the resonators. When the tuning element is moved horizontally sidewards from the resonator (710; 720; 730; 740; 750; 760) axis, the electrical length and natural frequency of the resonator change. In that case, when sub-bands are used it is not necessary to tune the filters separately for each sub-band in the stage of manufacture, as the sub-band can be chosen when the filter is put into use. The tuning elements can be movable also in each resonator separately, to implement the basic tuning in connection with the manufacture of the filter.

The dielectric resonator has a structure in which the dielectric core is provided in the cavity through earth plates. Each of the earth plates has slits provided at positions in contact with the four corners of each of two opposing side faces of the dielectric core. Of the four sides of each of the earth plates, the two sides provided with spring portions are preferably inclined so that the distance between the two sides decreases toward the bottom of the cavity, and concave portions are formed in the inner surface of the cavity corresponding to the two inclined sides.

Abstract: A small dielectric duplexer using a small TM mode dielectric resonator having a low loss is formed. On the transmission side thereof, TM double mode dielectric resonators and a TM triple mode dielectric resonator are arranged in a line so that their opening surfaces face the same direction. On the receiving side thereof, TM single mode dielectric resonators and a TM triple mode dielectric resonator are also arranged in the same direction in a similar manner as the transmission side. The external dimensions of the plurality of these dielectric resonators are made uniform by selecting a dielectric having a dielectric constant according to the degree of multiplexing. The opening surfaces of the cavities are covered by a panel having input/output terminals, an antenna connection terminal and input/output loops and by a panel having coupling loops. In this manner, a small dielectric duplexer with uniform external dimensions and a low loss is formed.
